A Crafty Weekend.

Yoo hoo, hope the sun is shining where you are - its lovely here (for a change) and have actually got some washing pegged out.
Well, I don't know what came over me at the weekend but had an urge to 'do' things - not like me - I often 'think' I want to do things but then don't actually get anything done. This weekend was different so after some baking:

Brownies, ginger snaps and cinnamon scones (recipe from green rabbit designs). All delish and nearly all gone!!

Next my Aunty Kitty had sent through some material that she no longer needs and thought I'd have another bash with my sewing machine - so here's a pic of a half finished bag - (because of the colours thought of a trick or treat bag) just needs the handles and motif on - so as soon as I've got something suitable I'll post a finished pic.

I know it's basic - but quite chuffed with it. Don't know if I am getting a bit above myself but my eldest is going to France with the school and doesnt have a wash bag and I cant seem to find anything suitable so am wondering if I'd be able to use a similar design and make him one???

Last photo for now (honest :-) ) A painted pot - I saw this post at Postcards from the P.P. and thought what an easy fab idea - I loved the zingy colours used but they wouldnt have gone with my existing pots so went for something a bit tamer and then decided to add spots:

It looks great - just need to do a few more now!!

I'll be glad to get to work for a rest - lol. Hopefully, I'll be back later with a couple of card makes.

Hope I haven't bored you to tears!!!

80th Birthday Card.

Cor blimey how windy outside!!! So after a busy morning at work I thought I'd have a little faff around - my mum reminded me it was my Aunty Joans 80th in July and I thought I'd get it made now rather than leave it to the last minute and have a panic if it didnt come together. So here it is:

I love the image this is another LOTV square that Marg sent to me in a stash swap (thanks again!!), I have used the gorgeous Basic Grey papers that I have had ages but didn't want to use as they were soooo gorgeous but as it was a special occassion I thought I would part with them - sniff. Lastly the pearls, flowers and 80 are from my stash.

I would like to enter this into:

One down, one to go.

A little bit more cross stitch - sorry!! Just there have been some lovely images in the cross stitcher magazine - and loved the little collection they put together for Mothers Day. So I cracked on with this one for my m-i-l:

I have added a little heart button (taken from a per una top) and added some little leaves from fabric in my little (no I mean tiny) fabric stash. Ooh which reminds me I need to ask something - at the end of the post. Sorry, I digress - lol, the lemon paper is handmade that I received from the lovely Linda at Pink Lilacs. The other patterned paper and sentiment is from my stash.

I would like to enter this into:

Fanfare please....

... lol, the sewing machine has had its first outing. I know, I know - shocking :-)!!! I've been cross-stitching a well I'm not sure what but he has the name of ninja panda - it is out of a cross stitching magazine as soon as my youngest saw him he asked me to make it for him so with a little bit of stuffing and a bit of felt and a key ring chain pinched from somewhere here he is:

Now I know he's not perfect but for a first attempt - lol. I did make a bit of a pigs ear of it in that I thought it would be easier to turn inside out from the side than the bottom, but then made the opening to small so had to unpick some and then I've stitched it by hand (not too neatly - oops!!) but its a learning curve - so I know for next time.

He's now safely on Tom's bookbag and can you see his little cross stitched dinosaur button and a badge from when we went to see Sarah Millican - we did get two badges but didnt think the school would think to highly of me considering it says gobsh*te - lol.

Any hints/tips greatly received. Now then what to do, what to do!!

Rock on!!

Yoo hoo, just time for a quick post before I make tea. This is a card I've made for Ians son who is in a band and has performed in quite a few gigs (and appeared at The Apollo - but not with Michael McIntyre - lol) - not my type of music though too loud and screamy - lol.

So here it is:

Cant remember the make of the paper but I know it was from the Glitterpot. The image was a freebie from Bugaboo that I have coloured with pro-markers and added 3d glossy accents to the guitar. I have then die cut stars and added a little ticket image and just to take the plainness off the corners added some triangles. Although it doesnt show to well in the photo I have put the stars flat to the paper but raised the guitarist image with sticky pads.

Oh am sure my mum wont mind...

... me blogging about her age on her upcoming birthday!!! Not long until my mums birthday so thought I had better get cracking with her card. Well, dont know if you spotted the link at the side to Wee Stamps which is a new digi image site and I was lucky enough to get a freebie -it was such a cutie and thought my mum would love it. I've made it totally girly, but I love it and hope mum will too - see what you think:

Papers were a freebie from a recent magazine that I have distressed the edges (and the card and the image - oops think gone a bit distressing mad!). The numbers were from hobbycraft and flowers from my stash (I think from the Hobbycraft sale - wish I had gotten more now - doh!)

The image has been coloured with promarkers and paper pieced her dress. I have also added stickles to the flowers and glossy accented the ladybug. (sorry for the dark pic - with the flash on it was to bright - iykwim)

Get well soon Rach!

Ooh nightmare, my hubbys cousin was rushed into hospital - but after an op she is on the mend thank god, so I needed to get a card made pretty quick for her - thank goodness for a LOTV square that the lovely Marg from MSE sent me in a swap:

I have backed this onto red card (to bring out the red of the cross), with some lovely lilacy/blue gingham paper that I was lucky to receive from Mina then lastly just tied a small piece of gingham ribbon into a knot (as it wasnt long enough to make a bow - oops!!) just wait for the glue to dry then get it delivered.
