Back again...

... I've taken a little advantage of being home today and made this:

trying to get ahead of the game (again!!!) - this is for the boys grandad, who celebrates a big birthday (80) not until  the summer, but what can you do when inspiration strikes (lol) - in my case seize it with both hands!!

Okey doke, the image is a precut & coloured LOTV that I have distressed.  The papers are my bargalicious Amy Tangerine  papers £2.99 from TKMaxx  (I got three packs and wish I'd got more) - again distressed.  The star has been manually die cut and the zigzag border electronically die cut (ooh get me!!) with a sentiment from my stash - that was a birthday gift last year from the lovely Sarah.

I would like to enter this into:

Kaboodle doodles - Brown/tan

I shouldnt really be here....

... I should be at work - but my eldest is off school poorly so I'm off with him.  Whilst I have a free minute thought I would do a quick blog post of a recent make:

I was recently lucky enough to win two digis from Pink Gem and this is one I chose - Emma in torn jeans.  She has been coloured with promarkers and I've tried to be a bit more adventurous  with her hair.  I have matted the image and basic grey papers onto kraft card.  I have die cut the circles and used my new hanging heart die and added pearls from my stash.

I would like to enter this into:

Passion for Promarkers - to die for
Cutie Pie - lots of layers
Love to create challenge blog - punches or dies
Tammys scraping corner - lots of layers

One of Janeys new designs...

...  I love this new image from Janey, and wanted to play with it - but had a bit of an issue with my colouring I wanted quite a dramatic colour - but it wasnt happening - so I settled for this blue and even used my pencils with my promarkers as well!!!

I was inspired to matt the image and papers onto black by having a nosy on Vickys blog - so thank you Vicky for letting me pinch your design idea :-).  As I have mentioned the image has been coloured with promarkers and pencils with some glossy accents to the centre.  This has been matted onto black card that I have cut with my nesties.  I have used dome pale blue stripey paper (matted) and added card candy from my stash.  These have then been matted onto blue card and layered again onto black.

Pop to Janeys Design Blog to see some other great makes.

Crafty Creatives spoiler alert...

... well its month two (for me) with Crafty Creatives - I think everyone has received their packages but if not look away now - 'cos heres a post about whats in this months box of delights.

Well it was all about Blue - at first I though oh no - nothing in my house is blue, but when I saw what was in it didnt really matter because its going to be great to play with:

Blue acrylics, papers and glitter/beads.
Blue artist card, a fat quarter of blue/white material, ceramic bird pendants,
jumping clay (?), small canvas,  tiny glass beads, felt balls.

Lastly the cc kit of the month to make a felt bluebird mobile.

Now I just need to find the time to play with it all!!!

Thanks for looking

Wow!! another post...

...ooh not sure how this is happening but I am on a roll - lol.  Just wanted to post a card I made for Ians cousin:

I have used a LOTVimage coloured with promarkers and matted onto brown card, and rounded the corners.  I have matted the dp (sorry not sure of the make)  onto the same brown card and added ribbon, sentiment and bling from my stash.

I would like to enter this into:

Papertake weekly: one paper taker.
Cards for men : anything goes
Simon says stamp - travel/cityscapes.
Aud sentiments - for a guy

Just before I go just want to show some bargains I couldnt resist:

Normally I never seem to get a bargain in hobbycraft BUT this week I managed to pick of a Tim Holtz die for £5 and a sew simple tote kit which was going to be for me reduced from £13.99 to £6 - but I'm going to give it to my neice for her birthday.

Also, went to a little crafty show and picked up a few things (well it would have been rude not to!)

Nothing much just a couple more dies I'd seen the heart one on a blog ages ago and fell in love with it so couldnt resist it when I spotted it.  Some new papers and distress ink, glue which I am loving instead of dst.  Some other bits I had bought but not shown are card blanks and red dst.

Must go on a stash ban now as feel REALLY guilty especially after what my hubby bought me!!

Right best go and start making the tea :-(

To be honest I've had the image coloured for ages and it just kept looking at me - so I got my act together and made this - the image has been coloured with promarkers and matted onto blue card then I have used basic grey papers (thats not a mucky mark on the pink paper it is on the design - honest, lol) and then added a doily and heart shaped bling from my stash.

I would like to enter this into:

Late Bloomer...

... its quite warm here today although very blustery and dark!! My little tete a tete daffodils are getting blown to bits.  However, heres a make that wont get blown away using one of Janey's digi images I've made this:

Apologies again for the photo they are either very light or dark!!

To make this I have printed off the different sized images twice and coloured them with every shade of yellw promarker I have (plus a bit of orange) raised the larger image with 3d pads and matted onto yellow and orange card.  Then added 3 bits of bling in the corner - cor the trouble trying to get anything orange though!!!  Why not pop over to Janeys blog for some more flower inspiration.

I would like to enter this into:

Playing...

... with my silhouette, lots more practice needed but slowly building up my confidence by making this last night...

the ipod/mp3 design was one of the free ones that comes with the machine, I have cut it and then matted it onto grey bazzill.  I have them embossed some red card then machine cut the word cool and  raised the word and the image by using sticky squares.   I had stuck grey card onto the card blank and then added card candy from my stash.  Quite pleased with the result :-).

Another sunny day...

... yay!!!!  Its my eldests 13th Birthday today and we've had sunshine - I think its only the second or third time it hasnt snowed or rained on his birthday - lol.  So after a bit of retail therapy at the MetroCentre spending his money on a skateboard he went out to play on it for all of 2 minutes - hmmmm - ah well its his money - we'll try and get to one of the local skate parks this week and see if that encourages him a little.    (I'm not going to blog his card as tbh I'm not that happy with it - think a bit of panic has set in lol - he seemed to like it though).

It's also Ians brothers Birthday tomorrow he has reached the big five oh, and there was a little party for him last night - not sure if he's opened his cards yet, I hope so 'cos I'm just about to blog his card:

I've used a great Bugaboo image coloured with promarkers and sentiment that came with the image.  I used my new Silhouette to cut out the 50  (brave I know!) and matted this onto a die cut star that I already had.  The dp is kaisercraft and the paper, image & sentiment have been matted onto yellow bazzil.

I would like to enter this into:

Catch the bug challenge - anything goes.
Simon says stamp challenge - Happy Birthday.
Cards for Men - april fool

While my mojo is with me I also made this card for a couple of challenges:

I've had this image for a while it was a freebie from  Pink Gem designs.  (Thanks Sue x)Again the image is coloured with promarkers, and was lovely to colour in.  The dp has been matted onto Green bazzil with flowers and card candy added from my stash and then some fern leaves punched from the same green bazzil.

I would like to enter this into:

I love promarkers - your favourite colours (love the green and pink combo which I've used a few times in the past.
Papertake weekly - anything goes
Passion for promarkers - fantasy
A gem of a challenge - animals

Right, think thats me up to date for now I've another card using one of Janeys images
but I need 3 orange pearls (or similar - and I havent got that colour - gah!!) not to worry going to a crafty fair on Saturday so hopefully I'll pick some up there - like I need an excuse to go - lol.

Enjoy whats left of the weekend.  Thanks for looking.

April already???

Good grief where did March go???  Not doing well in keeping up with this blogging malarky am I???  Anyhoo, hope you are all well - its lovely here today - although getting a little cold again now - managed to get some washing hung out and windows open for some fresh air in the house.

I've also been faffing on - my card making mojo went walkabout again - but is coming back now, it really needs to as got my sons 13th birthday coming up on Sunday totally stuck for layouts so think its going to be a c.a.s. make when I get it finished.

I feel really bad that I'm not making loads especially when my lovely hubby bought me a Silhouette Cameo - squeel!!!!!  Except tbh I'm a bit frightened of it especially as I've only used it a couple of times and think I've knacked the blade :-( .  The instruction booklet doesnt really give a huge amount of information so I've been searching You Tube - if anyone can point me in the direction of other good places to visit for help that would be great.

I have made this card last night using one of Janey new images - the hyacinth - which you can find here:

The papers and card are from my stash, the sentiment was a freebie download on Facebook but cant remember where from possible Whimsey???  I have coloured the image with promarkers and added a bow - I always have a nightmare trying to do bows always seem to end up with a bit lumpy knot type thing at the back - but this one didnt turn out tooo bad with practice I might end up with bows as good as Minas :-).

Right wont bore you any more today - going to have a bit more play - there have been some great freebies in the cross-stitch mags so think I'll go and do a bit of one of those - nearly finished one - just need to do some back stitch.

I'd like to enter this into Crafty Ribbons - anything goes with ribbon

Enjoy the rest of the day.
