Card making...

... to take my mind off the fact I've handed my notice in at a job that was making me miserable and I havent got a job to go to.  Obviously not recommended but I'm a great believer in fate and what will be will be.

Its going to be a struggle (so I'll be using lots of my stash up, so that can only be a good thing lol).  When Ians shifts and mine collided his mum and dad helped out with the childcare and as his dad has not been in too good a condition health wise that can only be a plus in that I take that burden off them - its not fair for them for us to have to keep putting on them.

Thats it in a nutshell,  so heres a card I've been working on.  A few posts ago I mentioned a designer that was new to me and she recently put up a gorgeous freebie image AND she has started her own challenge blog as well as things on Facebook:

The image has been coloured with promarkers and copics for the skin,  the papers are from some left over 12x12 sheets (that may have actually been a Christmas design!)  I have also used some mirricard and then added ribbon, bow and bling from my stash.

I would like to enter this into:

Aurora Wings - anything goes.

Thanks for looking.

  3. What a brave decision, Ali! Though, as Donna said, life is too short to spend it doing a job that doesn't make you feel happy - I can really relate to what you're going through as my Iain is feeling the same way about his job! I wish you both all the very best for this new chapter!
On a crafty note, I love your pretty card! You've coloured that fab image beautifully! Hugs, Lisa x

  14. I handed in my notice on a very well paid job almost ten years ago. We were worried about how we would manage but all our clothes now come from car boot sales and I shop for food at the wonderful Lidl which I can walk to. I now have more time for both myself and family. I have used my time recently to contact a few magazines and been commissioned to write five articles for three different publications. It obviously doesn't pay as well as a 'proper' job but is much more fun. You are very talented and this is just the start of a whole new journey for you x

  17. Oh my goodness, you've had loads going on. I am a believer that if it's not working, do something about it as life is too short for us to spend time making ourselves miserable. Does that make any sense...? Your card is stunning xxx
