SORRY!!

I have a huge apology to make, I signed up at Liberty Cottage for a scrapbooking layout challenge and was supposed to have posted my first page today - however, I have failed - I didnt really know what I was doing and was not happy with anything I tried to do - so I am afraid you will have to bypass me and go straight to here to see this great layout.

Fantastic Giveaway

Have you seen this fab giveaway:

Isn't it beautiful if you pop here at Kellies blog - you can see them in more detail it really is a fab giveaway with 9 Sugarplum kids, 2 Accessory stamps & 1 set of spring Sentiments.

Valentine Makes & Huge Thanks!

Good morning - well not been up to much recently - however, I have made a couple of Valentines Cards - this first one was going to be for hubby (I can post this now - because he never looks at my blog unless I make him!!) :

The paper is not showing too well - but it looks like love hearts - I added the black to try and make it a bit more masculine instead of all pink with the smirk card buttons and stamped image which was only about a £1 for the stamp from the Papermill shop. The photo doesn't really do it justice.

Then the other night when I was just faffing on I made this one:

I dont know why I have made 2 cards - believe me there are not 2 men in my life!!! For this I just punched out heart shapes from patterned paper and then punched the last one out of Silver Card and pencilled Valentine at the bottom. I didnt know whether to use a silver pen and draw a square around the hearts - but worried that it might spoil it, as I quite like the simpleness of it. Hmm I think I like this one more - but- my eldest may want it for a girl in his class ...aahh bless!!

Finally, postie has just been with this beautiful card:

and some lovely stamped images from Sarah. They are all beautiful thank you so much - you didn't need to!!!

A few makes!

Good Morning - hope you are all well! Well I think I have managed to break all of my New Years Resolutions - oh well nearly got to the end of January!! I have fallen behind on Debbies cookalong - I have the recipes printed just need to get the ingredients, hopefully when hubby is back at work properly and I am home alone I will be able to crack on with these things. I also want to thank Debbie for the RAK she sent me after entering one of her giveaways - all lovely!!

Anyway, I have been trying to keep on top of card making and also still entering a couple of challenges - I was going to fib and say I had made all three cards in one night - but I haven't its been over a couple of nights. This first one I am going to enter into The Basic Grey Challenge the theme is Animals, and you had to have at least one Basic Grey element - which is the paper from their cupcake collection:

The next are just a couple I have made one is for my husbands uncle:

And lastly a card for Tom to give to his friend at next weekends party:

It was my first attempt doing alphabet letters with my sizzix - eventually I got the hang of it- did put one of the dies in facing down instead of up - doh! - doesnt look like it has damaged anything though. Thank Goodness.

Basic Grey Challenge Entry.

Well, I don't know what has come over me since the new year - but am going to have a go at another Challenge!!! I know that my cards aren't as good as others but it is helping to build my confidence and also go a little bit outside my comfort zone so below is my entry for the Basic Grey Challenge:

I have used Basic Grey Lily Kate paper with flowers from Sarahs cards and I think the ribbon was out of a selection but unfortunately cant remember where from. Sorry for the rubbish photo - think I need to swot up a bit on taking better photos. I know I will put it on my 'to do list'.

Here is a card that I have done for a Lili of the Valley challenge - it is a variation of one that I had previously done - but have changed the sentiment to Thank you (which was the title of the challenge) - I have not entered a challenge before and I dont think it is anywhere as good as the others but am biting the bullet and giving it a go:

What more snow?!?

Good evening - well not long been in from work and had to walk home in the snow - luckily I only work 5 minutes away!! Still didn't stop me from looking like a snowman when I got in though!!

Anyway, just wanted to pop a quick post on showing a card that I have made for my mother in law
The decoupage picture and papers were again from rainmac!! I have added a little tag, however, the card candy I have used doesnt look as bright in real life!! (honest) and blends a bit better.

Right I think its time for a relaxing soak in the bath - and then a bit more pootling about with papers later. x

Crafty Thursday!!

Good afternoon, how are you all coping with the snow & cold??? Apart from ungritted road - things are going ok here - yes we have snow (lots) & yes its cold, but can get out and about and the school is open (yay!!).

Today has been slightly crafty - in that, I have done a spot of baking and a spot of card making.

Thanks to Debbie over here for the recipe and the motivation - apart from fairy cakes for school fairs and the odd batch of hobnobs, thats about the most baking I do - so here is my version of her carrot cake:

Me & hubby just had to have a piece for our 2 o'clocks with a nice cup of coffee & it tastes delicious!! Quite amazed it worked - honestly I am really no good at things like this - just need more practice - I think it is just a confidence thing.

Tom has been invited to a school friends party - so made a card for him:
The image is a cute dinosaur that I received as a RAK from MrsTidge (thanks again!). What do you think, I am not sure whether to leave it as it is or to add the boys age (6) between the dinosaur and the sentiment.

Ok, thats it for today - will let you go now - whilst I go and sort out the boys tea. Take care x

Evening all, what twice in one day!!! Well just been having a little mess about and made a couple of cards:

Sorry not sure of the names of the papers - they were some that the lovely Rainmac sent me when I first showed an interest in card making.

This was made with some Basic Grey papers that I received from Mel for winning a challenge that she had set over on MSE. I got the little tea & biscuits stickers from Paperchase and just printed off the little 'Time for Tea' on the home computer. The colours dont show up too good on the photo but they are a lovely lime colour.

Hope you like them.

*note to self - tidy desk before taking photos!*
Well good morning, 3rd January already!! Hope you had a good New Year - not too much of a bad head the next day!!

Ours was a quiet one - cant take the pace anymore!!

We did have a bracing walk by the sea - weather was fine until we reached the car park (we were the only ones there!) and then it started snowing - couldn't believe it though - hardly any moans!!
How are your Resolutions going - the fitness one for me is still to get started, but I have done 2 meals from scratch!! Is it my new Cath Kidston apron bringing out the chef in me??? One a Philadelphia recipe with Smoked Salmon - but didnt really like it - and the other one courtesty of here and it was lovely - fab site as well. It looks like I will be getting some encouragement and recipes to try here, Debbie is one talented lady - am hoping will be able to keep up with her - looking forward to the Carrot Cake -one of my favourites!!

I was pleased to get a couple of books for Christmas - and then my mum loaned me two that she had read and absolutely loved:

Sorry about the bad picture but the books were Dawn French, Jane Green & 2 by Jennifer Worth - decisions, decisions, which to start first - hmmmm - well opted for Dawn French and so far so good.

Well its snowing again here and my eldest and his dad have gone sledging but the youngest wants to stay in and be warm. So I am on Hot Chocolate duty - hope you are enjoying the snow!!

Ooh, also wanted to let you know I have had a bit play with my Sizzix and it is not scary at all, just waiting for a delivery of more dies and then can get tinkering a bit more- but will hopefully get a few cards made any way - the kids are back at school on Tuesday - so from then will be able to concentrate on my card making!!
