Oh am sure my mum wont mind...

... me blogging about her age on her upcoming birthday!!! Not long until my mums birthday so thought I had better get cracking with her card. Well, dont know if you spotted the link at the side to Wee Stamps which is a new digi image site and I was lucky enough to get a freebie -it was such a cutie and thought my mum would love it. I've made it totally girly, but I love it and hope mum will too - see what you think:

Papers were a freebie from a recent magazine that I have distressed the edges (and the card and the image - oops think gone a bit distressing mad!). The numbers were from hobbycraft and flowers from my stash (I think from the Hobbycraft sale - wish I had gotten more now - doh!)

The image has been coloured with promarkers and paper pieced her dress. I have also added stickles to the flowers and glossy accented the ladybug. (sorry for the dark pic - with the flash on it was to bright - iykwim)

Get well soon Rach!

Ooh nightmare, my hubbys cousin was rushed into hospital - but after an op she is on the mend thank god, so I needed to get a card made pretty quick for her - thank goodness for a LOTV square that the lovely Marg from MSE sent me in a swap:

I have backed this onto red card (to bring out the red of the cross), with some lovely lilacy/blue gingham paper that I was lucky to receive from Mina then lastly just tied a small piece of gingham ribbon into a knot (as it wasnt long enough to make a bow - oops!!) just wait for the glue to dry then get it delivered.

Revamped Shopping List Book.

At the weekend I came to the end of a rather boring shopping list book, and had a spare in the drawer, (cheepo from Wilkinsons) - but I didn't want just another boring one - so thought I would vamp this one up:
I have used a sheet of 8x8 smirk paper and trimmed it to the desired pattern and also layered up the pile of presents (although it hasnt photographed too well), added candy at the top and lastly ribbon (which was saved from a box of choccies) to make the pencil holder at the side.

A quick, easy and cheap update that will look rather snazzy round Asda. (By I know how to live life - lol).

Well apart from throwing a strop and storming out of a shop yesterday and leaving my hubby standing there looking a bit of a goon - my keep my pecker up mood is going well - cough!.

So I thought I'd blog this bright and cheery card. I've had it made a while and to be honest had forgotten about it so as sorting through my little mound of cards thought I would blog it:

I think it was Sarah who sent me the lovely image, coloured with promarkers, papers where freebies from a magazine, with flower and card candy from stash. I have also inked the edge of the card with pink ink.

Striking while the iron is hot

Well I got the card that I had to make done today - so have taken a quick pic sorry about the naff photo - such a grey dull day and moaned about low energy lightbulbs before - grrr:

The image is a digi coloured with promarkers and glossy accents added to the controller. The papers I think are from the Smirk Mens collection and the sentiment was generated on word using Computerman font.

What to do, what to do...

... ooh no the pressure, since my last post a few have asked what I am going to sew but I have to admit to no bloomin idea lol. Still looking for fabric - and I have lots of things bookmarked - but it has to be easy. So once I have found my fabric I'll narrow down my list of makes and see what I can come up with I'll keep you posted. ( I must admit to needing to hem a pair of hubbys work trousers that I keep hiding until I've bought some wondaweb - aah - he'll never know )

Right onto a card make I wont waffle on too much about this as my eldest has had a last minute party invite so off to make a card for a soon to be 11 year old.

This one is for Ians uncle who bought a caravan late last year and plans to make full use of it this summer (hope the sun shines soon!):

I have used brown card stock and mattered a teal (?) coloured bazzill which I have distressed the edges. The image is a jolly nation one that I got for 99p at Hobbycraft, coloured with pro-markers, ribbon, sentiment and candy from stash.

Are you sitting comfortably...

... well I feel I must apologise for being a bad blogger - not posted for ages so this might be a long one :-). Been a bit busy with family birthdays and a night out - no make that 2 nights out (and its only February that must be half my annual quota!! lol). Also have to admit to being a bit of a grump lately and not sure why but I've tried to keep up with blogs and its interesting when flitting about you read things on other blogs and think great its not just me - other people feel like this to.

So on Thursday the sun was shining and it even felt warm - I gave myself a kick up the ar*e and bought some plants to cheer me up and pottered about in the garden and made up a few pots:

I felt really chipper after doing this and get this... I even hung some washing out!!! Shocking I know!!! But now the weather has turned again and I've got more plants to plant which I really wanted to do asap - grr - bl**dy weather.

My next mission... SEWING....
Ready , steady, sew....

err no not quite:

Got the gear (well except for the fabric (which is so much more expensive than I thought it would be - or am I just being tight!)

Thanks to Mrs A for the website tip as to where to get some Bondaweb - but a few other things fell into the basket as well. I also got some little (very) bits of material off ebay - I should really learn to read descriptions better the little bag of goodies isn't quite what I had in mind thought the price was too good to be true - lol. But after being intrigued by a post at Dazie Delights I've got some good links to follow up there. Although I keep going back to Fabric Rehab gorgeous fabrics there - just need to get the delivery timing right so it comes when hubby at work so I dont get grief, but then he did buy me the sewing machine which is slowly gathering dust.

I've also been making a few cards I made a lovely new baby card for a chap Ian works with but forgot to take a piccie of - doh!!

Well I think I've bored you enough tonight so I'll post them tomorrow - got to keep my mojo rolling lol.

Oh very last thing, honestly, if you ever get chance to see this lady:

Sarah Millican:

She is hilarious - little bit more sweary than on TV but my god she is brilliant I laughed from start to finish - saw her up at Newcastle Journal Theatre a couple of Fridays ago soooo funny!!!

70th Birthday Card

My mum asked me to make a card for a friend of the family who's 70th Birthday falls on the same day as my brothers 50th - still cant believe I'm typing that - it doesnt seem real that my brother is nearly 50!!

Anyhoo here it is - she wanted something a little bit cheeky but still quite plain - hmm see what you think:

The paper is from my stash - sorry cant remember make. The image is a freebie coloured with promarkers, used distress inks on the edge and just centred and typed the sentiment underneath.

I really should be doing housework but I cant be bothered so I just thought I'd quickly nip on and blog this card I made the other night:

The image was sent to me by one of the lovely ladies on MSE (I think Sarah - Thank you!), I have coloured him with promakers and used stamping up papers (ooh they are lovely!!), with a sentiment from Craftwork Cards (I think?). I have trimmed the front of the card and then added Punched SU paper and lined the edge up with the back of the card (iykwim :-) )
