Flying visit...

... to show my little owl that I made with the fabric from my Crafty Creatives box:


I googled for an owl cushion pattern/tutorial and this is what I got.  I've used scraps of material I already had and then used one of the leather patches to stitch on his eyes and beak - I wasnt sure if my sewing machine would stitch through leather (its the first time I have tried and it did, but did slip a bit - however that may have been me - lol) and there is still plenty of material left to make something else.

Definately need more practice on the sewing front to gain confidence with my sewing machine and also to get a grip with cutting and measuring - I think my problem is I'm too impatient and instead of taking my time tend to rush things to get them finished - oops.

    That sounds exactly like me, Always in a rush with the sewing machine. The owl looks great though.

    What a great first project, well done. I only use my machine for re sewing hems, and mending holes. I need a kick up the bum to try to make things on it!xx
