Hellooo...

.... how are you all???  Just a quick post before I get settled for tonights viewing of life at Harrow School followed by Educating Yorkshire - complete contrasts to school life - lol.

Got a couple of cards made that I am going to enter into a couple of challenges.  The first is one for one of my best friends son who will be 13 in November, I know he was a fan of Dr Who so I am hoping he still is, as I have used a great free digi - I first saw it on Ellas designs blog and she had kindly posted the link to it here:

I have coloured the image with promarkers and added glossy accents to the light and the window.  It has been matted onto blue card and the dp is Amy Tangerine - again matted onto blue card the star was a freebie from a giveaway and I have added the numbers from my stash.

I would like to enter this into:

Passion for Promarkers - one for the boys

The next card is not made for anyone in particular - other than I wanted to practice my colouring and I liked the sketch  on the papertake weekly challenge:

The image is a lovely Saturated Canary one (and I have just realised I seem to have lost two of her images from my computer - I'm hoping hubby did a back up not so long ago and stored all my images and they will be on the memory stick :-( )  Anyhoo, back to the card I have coloured her with promarkers and then die cut her and distressed the edges.  The dp's were freebies from  a magazine ages ago and then with a bit of artistic licence I have added some ribbon and a little strawberry charm.

I would like to enter this into:

Papertake weekly: - sketch
Simon says stamp - anything goes.

Hmmmm now then I was also thinking of entering it into the Pink Elephant spots/stripes challenge but would you think the gingham effect paper would qualify???

Right off for a little glass of wine and a bit of my wizard stitchery whilst watching tv!  Must get a up to date photo of my stitching to show the progress I have made - I am onto the last quarter of him - althought lots of other bits to be added - just keep stitching, just keep stitching.

Take care & thanks for looking

Still here...

... just haven't posted for a while, with a missing mojo and getting things organised for my youngest sons birthday who was 10 on Tuesday, and is having a laserquest party on Saturday - just hope the rain has stopped by then - mind you it should make for a good muddy run around - I'm sure the other parents will love me - NOT!!

But a colouring session at Janines crafty club on Saturday helped to get a few cards started :-).  I was starting to panic just a little bit as I hadn't even made a start on Toms card but it all came together in the end - phew.

Now a theme seems to be emerging with Toms cards - he still likes army things - so thats what I did, I think this could be year 3 of an army card lol:

The image is a good ol' Bugaboo, coloured with promarkers, and distressed the edges.  I crimped some craft card and printed off the digi paper - added twine and made my own medal (hmm looking a bit wonky there yet it doesnt in real life??) and added the number 10 from my stash.  The card blank was an 8x8 from Craftwork cards, of which I distressed the edges.

I would like to enter this into:

Cutie Pies challenge blog: For the boys
Pink Elephant Challenge - digi image or papers (I've used both)
I love promarkers - anything goes
Cards for men - string it up
Crafty Little Fairies - numbered birthday

Right, thats my quickie post done - off to do some housework - I dont know about you but if I miss one day of pottering around it all goes a bit mental so I end up running around like a loony on my day off!!!  Mind you I am popping out for a sneeky lunch with a friend for a gossipy catch up - lol.

Thanks for looking

Morning all...

... yup, here again - shocking I know.  I've seen a couple of challenges around and thought I'd quickly blog this card I have made for my nephew who turns 18 in October - yup trying to be organised.

The trusty Beer Monster from Pollycraft has come out to play again!  He has been coloured with promarkers and a little bit of glossy accents to his glass.  He has been matted onto red card and the dp is Amy Tangerine.  I have then squished a bottle top and added my age and again added lots of glossy accents to that.

I would like to enter this into:

A gem of a Challenge - use 2 backing papers
Simon says challenge - anything goes
I love promarkers - use a number
Crafty Creations - use a number.

A little catch up...

...  yoo hoo,  just wanted to do a quick catchy up post.  This last week we had a few days down at Derbyshire staying at Matlock at a lovely B&B, we could have spent longer there as there was so much to see with one day filled with a theme park (and a couple of crafty shops - cough) and the other at Chatsworth House which was a great day filled and we still managed to miss things!!! Definately need to spend longer there next time.  The B&B where we stayed their daughter has holiday cottages on her farm - so maybe it could be there next for a longer break - although we would miss Davids super breakfasts.

The lady who ran the B&B was a lecturer in tailoring, needlework & patchwork!!!  So I managed to get an impromptu patchwork class and the lovely lady gave me some oddments of material to go towards my patchwork cushion - which hasn't been touched for a while as I ran out of material:

Goodies from Andrea

I've finished my Gnome alphabet apart from the pesky french knots for eyes - grrrr they are a nightmare and they are just not happening so I'll come back to that:

After much pestering from my son - I've picked up my wizard cross stitch:

Oops wrong way round but you get the idea - I'm not enjoying this I feel like I am stitching and stitching and not making any progress but I know if I look back through my blog I can see my progress from previous photos.  The other factor as to why I'm not enjoying it is because I want to start this:

I saw this on Mouses blog and fell in love with it straight away - so I had to order it - now Mouse said its ok to start but I'm trying to be good and hang on until I've done a bit more of the wizard - lol - hmmmm we'll see though.

Right thats my stitchy up date - I really need to get cracking with cards - its my youngests birthday in a couple of weeks so I really need to make a start on his card!!!

Yoo hoo

...  spotted another challenge I can enter a card that I have had a photo of for ages but not actually blogged:

This was for my nephew who recently (well a couple of months ago) passed his driving test.  At the time he was training at Southampton so I googled the map and printed it out to use as the dp and matted it onto burgundy cardstock.  I also printed the sentiment and the image (again from google images), I made the banner my self.  The image was a freebie stamp from a magazine ages ago, coloured with promarkers and some glossy accents to Bentley Bears goggles.

I would like to enter this into:

Just escaping...

... from the housework, I've done downstairs so before I move upstairs I'll quickly blog this card:

As I have spotted the Pink Gem challenge and if I dont blog it now I know I'll forget :-).   The image is Pink Gem coloured with promarkers (I was going to be good and list the colours I used but a few more pens have ended up on my desk and now I cant remember what they were doh!),  I have used patterned papers that were free with a magazine ages ago and matted them onto pale blue cardstock.  I have then die cut the fence with a memory box die and used the swirls off another die under a punched flower with a pearl added to the centre from my stash.

I would like to enter this into

A Gem of A Challenge - punch it out
Totally Gorjuss - use die cuts/punches

Right back to the dusting/hoovering - thanks for looking

Phew ... that was close...

Oh dear I thought I had measured this material correctly and even got hubby to double check me - but we went wrong somewhere:

My Z is about an inch away from the edge of the fabric!!!  I was having a slight panic that it wasnt going to fit, so I just did the stitches I needed to to see where my last stitches would be - phew, it just to say made it!!  Still cant get my head around how if I started from the middle I have ample room at one end and not the other - I think I'll blame the pattern - it was split in two so yeah I'll blame that.

Now that I know it fits I'll go back and finish it properly (as I had lost heart in it when I thought it wasnt going to fit).

Thanks for looking
