Where has today gone??? (every day rambling and some stitchery)

Blooming 'eck cant believe its half three already - keep thinking its only mid morning -whats all that about??? lol

Well, today is my first day off whilst the boys have been on holiday and I wanted to take them to an exhibition at a local museum to see props and models from sci-fi films - tbh - more for me than them -lol as I am a bit of a Star Wars fan:

It wasnt a huge exhibition just to say worth the couple of pound to get in.  To stop the moaning about going to the museum I said I'd take them to the local indoor skate park - which was bl**dy freezing -NOTE TO SELF  next time - wrap up very warmly and take something to read!!!

Now they cant moan next time I want to take them somewhere when I sat for two hours in the cold for them - lol.

Right enough of my everyday rambling - I'm also here to show a bit of stitchery.  I have finally got round to finishing off some completed  cross-stitching:

Made into a cushing AND I even managed to add lace!!  Never done that before.

Made into another cushion.

Lastly I had the urge to make a make-up bag at the weekend (as you do).  Now my sewing knowledge is basic to say the least but I managed to make a makeup bag - lined and with a zip neither of which have I attempted before!!! without much swearing or unpicking - heres a piccie of the finished item, now I know its not brilliant but for a first attempt I'm quite chuffed:

Right I think thats me up to date, just on with some colouring for christmas cards and stitching together the felt reindeer that came free with a magazine.  But before I can crack on with that I have to get Tom ready for a Halloween party that he is going to tonight.

If you've made it this far - thank you!

Bonjour!

Long time no post, but I do have a good reason you see we had a little jolly to Eurodisney:

As you can see weather wasnt fab but it didnt really matter.  The park was ready for Halloween and the parade was Halloween/Fall based just gorgeous!!!

And of course you had to have a cuddle with Mickey, although Tom who is 10 was in a bit of a strop as he felt he was TOO old for this (he soon came round though), but Jack enjoyed it - lol, but dont tell him I told you - Goofy took a particular shine to him lol.

When we came home it was Pins and Needles show at Newcastle racecourse, I had tickets from the beginning of the year but wasnt sure if we'd be bothered to make it but my lovely hubby took me up - now, I did enjoy it but there was only one cross stitch stall - the lovely TrudyAnne Designs so I bought a couple of things there:

And I couldnt resist starting one of the designs - oops that means the wizard will probably come to a standstill.

That is the most recent update of him - but I will keep at him as the end is in sight :-), I think I'll take hints from June  as she always has a few projects on the go at once.

The rest of the stalls were cardmaking, so it would have been rude not to make a couple of purchases:

Nothing too exciting, as I didnt have an idea of what I needed as I was expecting it to be more fabrics/stitching.

So thats it really, I need to get back into cardmaking and make a start on my Christmas Cards.

Hope I haven't bored you.

Thanks for looking

Morning...

... just a quick post before I go and clean the windows outside - we have been living in a bit of a fog since our window cleaner did a bunk a certain number of months ago and they havent been touched - dirty devil that I am, anyhoo its a nice morning so I'm going to get that job out of the way.

First though I'll blog this whilst I finish my cuppa:

I've coloured this gorgeous image with promarkers (however I have dipped my toe in the dark side that is copics for the skin colours!) and added some fine glitter to the bottom of her dress and the material from her hat. The crown was coloured with a gold pen. The image and papers have been backed onto purple card and the dp's are papermania.  I have added flowers and little gems from my stash.

I would like to enter this into:

Papertake weekly: - anything goes.
Simon says stamp: Dotty
Moving along with the times - anything goes
Di's digi design challenge blog - show off your colouring

Right best go and tackle these windows :-(

Clean and Simple...

... I was playing around with one of Janeys lovely images and fancied trying a couple of new things, first a bit of free hand doodling and second a go at a twisted easel card, here is the outcome:  (It is a bit picture heavy as it was tricky trying to show the effect).

I have used my favourite colour combo. of pink and green and used pro-markers to colour the sweet pea image.  The paper was a freebie in paperstack from a magazine ages ago.  I have used pink card stock to matt the image onto and used the same coloured card for the butterflies - the sentiment is from craftwork cards and added pearls from my stash.

I would like to enter this into:

Allsorts - how does your garden grow
Crafty sentiments - favourite colour combination

Hellooo...

.... how are you all???  Just a quick post before I get settled for tonights viewing of life at Harrow School followed by Educating Yorkshire - complete contrasts to school life - lol.

Got a couple of cards made that I am going to enter into a couple of challenges.  The first is one for one of my best friends son who will be 13 in November, I know he was a fan of Dr Who so I am hoping he still is, as I have used a great free digi - I first saw it on Ellas designs blog and she had kindly posted the link to it here:

I have coloured the image with promarkers and added glossy accents to the light and the window.  It has been matted onto blue card and the dp is Amy Tangerine - again matted onto blue card the star was a freebie from a giveaway and I have added the numbers from my stash.

I would like to enter this into:

Passion for Promarkers - one for the boys

The next card is not made for anyone in particular - other than I wanted to practice my colouring and I liked the sketch  on the papertake weekly challenge:

The image is a lovely Saturated Canary one (and I have just realised I seem to have lost two of her images from my computer - I'm hoping hubby did a back up not so long ago and stored all my images and they will be on the memory stick :-( )  Anyhoo, back to the card I have coloured her with promarkers and then die cut her and distressed the edges.  The dp's were freebies from  a magazine ages ago and then with a bit of artistic licence I have added some ribbon and a little strawberry charm.

I would like to enter this into:

Papertake weekly: - sketch
Simon says stamp - anything goes.

Hmmmm now then I was also thinking of entering it into the Pink Elephant spots/stripes challenge but would you think the gingham effect paper would qualify???

Right off for a little glass of wine and a bit of my wizard stitchery whilst watching tv!  Must get a up to date photo of my stitching to show the progress I have made - I am onto the last quarter of him - althought lots of other bits to be added - just keep stitching, just keep stitching.

Take care & thanks for looking

Still here...

... just haven't posted for a while, with a missing mojo and getting things organised for my youngest sons birthday who was 10 on Tuesday, and is having a laserquest party on Saturday - just hope the rain has stopped by then - mind you it should make for a good muddy run around - I'm sure the other parents will love me - NOT!!

But a colouring session at Janines crafty club on Saturday helped to get a few cards started :-).  I was starting to panic just a little bit as I hadn't even made a start on Toms card but it all came together in the end - phew.

Now a theme seems to be emerging with Toms cards - he still likes army things - so thats what I did, I think this could be year 3 of an army card lol:

The image is a good ol' Bugaboo, coloured with promarkers, and distressed the edges.  I crimped some craft card and printed off the digi paper - added twine and made my own medal (hmm looking a bit wonky there yet it doesnt in real life??) and added the number 10 from my stash.  The card blank was an 8x8 from Craftwork cards, of which I distressed the edges.

I would like to enter this into:

Cutie Pies challenge blog: For the boys
Pink Elephant Challenge - digi image or papers (I've used both)
I love promarkers - anything goes
Cards for men - string it up
Crafty Little Fairies - numbered birthday

Right, thats my quickie post done - off to do some housework - I dont know about you but if I miss one day of pottering around it all goes a bit mental so I end up running around like a loony on my day off!!!  Mind you I am popping out for a sneeky lunch with a friend for a gossipy catch up - lol.
