Oh how rude!!

In my excitement at making a card and getting it blogged on the same day - I forgot to ask if you had a great Christmas. So sorry!!

Hope you and your families had a great time and that Santa was kind to you. Not too much in the crafty way here just a heat gun and fluffy stuff - that probably wont be used until next Christmas now - lol. And after much umming and aahing - my hubby bought me a sewing machine - aargh. I havent used a sewing maching since I was at school quite a few - err I mean - just a couple of years ago - when the teacher told me I should stick to knitting!!!

So I have dug out my CK sew book - it seems quite easy and when I am not waiting in for a new phone (grr) to be delivered I'll go and get some material. However, if anyone has any advice for an absolute beginner -please feel free to point me in the right direction - lol!! Believe me, I'll need all the help I can get.

Whilst I am on incase I dont get another post before New Year - I'll take this opportunity to wish you all a Healthy & Happy New Year. I look forward to reading your blogs in the new year.

Engagement card.

Yoo hoo, oooh its foggy & damp and miserable here - boo!! So while the boys are having their xbox time I've got a few minutes to blog an engagement card I have made for a girl I work with:

The backing papers are Basic Grey. The digi image is coloured with promarkers and had glossy accents and stickles to highlight areas - I have matted it onto pearlised card from the papermill and added organza ribbon and pearls from stash.

I would like to enter this into:

Catching up - Big post warning!!

Oh my lord - I seem to have lost a couple of weeks - do you know where they have gone - lol. I haven't even got a decent excuse yes a nativity, carol concert and running around for school disco's thats about all I can blame on the boys. I must take the blame though, every year I think I am organised and then it all goes a bit Pete Tong!! I've tried to keep up to date with blog hoppin and the forum that I like a bit of a chat on but feel I have failed miserably. So if I havent left you comments when I normally do please accept my apologies and I will try harder in the New Year.

Anyhoo, enough of my feeble excuses and ramblings here are a couple of cards I have made:

This was for my hubby made with a digi from Pollycraft - coloured with pro-markers, papers from ebay, snowflake made with a Mariannes die cut and sentiment generated on the pooter.
(p.s. its not wonky - I photographed it with the envelope underneath - doh)
I would like to enter this into:
Alys Sunday Challenge - anything goes.
Karber Christmas challenge - Christmas (with a digi)
Spoonfull of sugar - Christmas

This next one is made with a combination of different stamps. Sarah sent me the front sentiment but it had a pair of what I thought looked like ladies pants on and as it was for a boy I cut the pants off and then inside stamped a boxer shorts image that I had from Little Claires:

Front:

Inside:
Papers again from ebay the pants have been coloured with promarkers and then Glossy Accented.
I would like to enter this into:
Freshly Brewed Challenge - Christmas
Wags & Whiskers - snowflakes

It's all a bit of a blur who I have given cards to, but I think I gave this to one of the mums at school who gave me a lovely giftbag of homemade biscuits - yum. My cooking is not fab - so I thought I would give her my version of homemade:

Papers from Stash - think they were last years Daisy & Dandelion, the image also from stash backed onto Mirri card and coloured with promarkers then highlighted with glossy accents and stickles. The little present embelishment was from Dunelm mill - I think it was meant to be a button but I cut the loop thing off the back and glued with glossy accents.
I would like to enter this into:
Creative Belli Blog - Christmas
Simon Says Stamp - Anything goes

Lastly - this is actually a spare - hmm who have I forgotten to post to:

Again - last years papers & Sentiment, image from Sarah (again - thank you!!) coloured with promarkers and highlighted with stickles.

I would like to enter this into:

I love promarkers - anything goes.

Phew I think I need a cup of tea now!!!

Then its off to make some Christmas decs. with they boys - talk about last minute lol!! In case I dont get back on again before Christmas I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all :

A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Thanks for visiting and leaving comments - I've loved reading every one!!! Look forward to visiting you all in the New Year.

What more snow...

... well the boys school has been closed and will be tomorrow - luckily hubby's shifts mean he is off, so no childcare nightmares (for this week anyway!!). It cant last much longer - can it???

Anyway, while tea is cooking, I thought I'd quickly nip on and post this card:

This was originally meant for a sketch challenge over on mse that I was doing from memory, but then when I saw the sketch again - it was nothing like it - oops!!! I have used papers, sentiment and ribbon from my stash. The image from ebay is coloured with pro-markers. I have die cut some snowflakes and popped little sparkly bling from stash in the centres. Sakura glitter pen has highlighted some snow and the hedgies spikes.

I would like to enter this into:

Ellephantastic challenge - red & green
The crafty pad - snowflakes
Diecut challenges - use a die
Sew many challenges - red & green

A new digi...

...oops you know what its like when you see something that you must have, well that happened to me the other day at the Pollycraft shop and when this digi was only 99p it would have been rude not to - thats what I'll tell my hubby when he sees the credit card bill for these and the others from Bugaboo that have gone on this month - cough!

Sorry for the lousy picture - I've taken it without the flash as when I tried with it was toooo bright!! I have coloured her with promarkers (with a little bit of glitter pen on the wording) and used my new die cut shape (note to self: has that purchase also been explained???) the flowers and paper where from a commenter win at Minas blog and then the sentiment is an Elzybells one. The faux stitching is with a silver gel pen.

I was going to enter it into the pollycraft challenge but doh!! missed the deadline - hmm wonder if can enter it in any others??

Snowed in...

nearly, my mum lives 20 mins away and cant get through to her - roads too icy and the main road is down to one lane, hubby at work so bottled out of taking my 2 little boys in my little peugeot - so I think it will be an easy day at home probably with lots of snowball & snowmen making. So before I go and get my wellies on I'll just quickly blog this card:

As you can see this was made before the snow fall - I should do one now - lol. The image was sent from Sarah, the papers were from my ebay, ribbon and charm from my stash. Image coloured with pro-markers and distressed with Tim Holtz ink.

I would like to enter this into:

It's been a while...

oh, I know I've been a bad blogger not blogged a make for ages. I have been getting myself in a bit of a tizz because nothing was working - my colouring was lousy & bleeding, everything seemed wonkier than usual - nightmare. So after twisting on to my hubby his advice was to leave things be for a little while and then try again - because all I ever seemed to be doing was faffing on with cards - so I did.

I have slowly got back into it and made a few christmas cards - I thought I'd blog them one at a time - then I have no excuse to hide away again - lol :

I have used a freebie image from Pollycraft coloured with promarkers and some Sakura glitter pens. The papers from a bundle from ebay, with organza ribbon and a greeting tag from stash.

Its quite different to the usual christmas colours - but I am quite pleased with it.

I would like to enter it into the following challenges:

Totally Papercraft - untraditional colours
Creative cottage - untraditional colours.
Simon says stamp - let it snow

It's been snowing here ALL day - so just waiting for hubby to come in from work and its a lovely pan of stew and fresh crusty bread for tea - yum.

Blog award.

I was really chuffed when I saw Fi had nominated me for this award - especially when I feel I have been a bad blogger of late, and had a hissy fit the other night when I wasted about 4 images because my colouring kept bleeding and they just looked a mess - aargh. For this award you need to list 10 things about yourself that you might not know - this is going to be very hard:

1) I hate spiders.
2) I am a very bad tempered driver.

oh gosh this is very hard!! I feel I havent done anything interesting or met anyone interesting lol

3) I have a very sweet tooth and would rather miss a starter and main meal and just go for desert.
4) I thought I was a cheap date, the most expensive thing I liked to drink was Asti but after receiving a bottle of Moet one christmas - I now like the finer things in life.
5) I can't buy bags of maynards sports mixture as I would eat them in 5 mins flat.
6) I was never very maternal and it was only when I approached 30 that I thought it was now or never for kids - best decision I ever made.
7) I appeared in a magazine make over. ( I think I might have mentioned that before - lol). Not as glamorous as you think it would be.
8) I have awards in Life Saving (in water).
9) I work in a pharmacy and hate it when people show you wounds, or go into graphic detail about their illnesses - it makes me feel hot & queasy! (I'd never be a nurse)
10) I am overwhelmed by how nice people who you have never met can be. I have met some truly lovely people since doing this.

Phew that was hard and I apologise if they are a bit boring so now I would like to nominate:
1) Sarah at Rainmacs place
2)Amanda at Amanda Makes
3)Gem at Handmade by Gem
4)Karen at Karens Crafty Corner
5)Linda at Pink Lilacs
6)Angela at Sparkly cards
7) Vicky at Vixx Handmade Cards
8)Claire at What shall I make today
9)Trish at Craftygrannys crafty corner
10)Oona at Its not Terry's its mine.

Right off for I'm a celebrity. Sorry Shaun I ever doubted you - you are brilliant - lol xx

Have a nice night xx

Just a quick post.

Helloooo, well I have just finished a mountain of ironing - although I have been a bit naughty and left the bedding - I just couldnt face it - lol - nobody will see it!!

So I have taken the chance before the school run to pop this card on my blog - I have had it stored on my camera for a while and not blogged it - then I saw Fayes blog and thought I could enter this into the Cupcake challenge. Their challenge is a card for house warming - Ta Da!

The image is a digi that I won a few months back, that I have coloured with promarkers , I have mounted it on I think some Basic Grey and just used brown and a mustardy coloured card from my stash - probably from the PaperMill Shop. I have punched some of the card and then stamped new home and cut the pieces up (to disguise that I couldnt get them lined up - cough!) - should I be admitting that - lol.

Thanks for looking - right dashing for the boys - catch up later.

Oh before I forget did you see Nigels face when Shaun went into the meet & greet on I'm a celeb!! priceless.

Inspired... at last!

Yoo Hoo!! hope you are all well - gosh can't believe its's been a week since my last post!! Had problems with a missing mojo, lack of inspiration (don't know how when I see lots of lovely makes on other blogs!!) and never owning quite the right thing - lol - my hubby thinks thats an excuse to buy more - yeah - he could be right!!

Anyhoo, I've had a little potter on this afternoon and finally got my boys Christmas cards finished - I have had them coloured in for most of the week but couldn't decide on the layouts and papers.

I was lucky enough to win a commenters candy over at Mina's lovely blog if you've not been there pop over and check out her gorgeous makes. I have used one of the lovely papers she sent me straight away for this one:

Tom loves Phineas & Ferb, so I googled free colouring pages and found this one, coloured with pro-markers. I am in love with Fonts 101 where I was able to find this Disney font and then punched some small snowflakes from the same paper that I have put the image on - I am really pleased with how it turned out. When I started this an easel card never even entered my head - lol. I am not going to enter this into any challenges as I am not sure if you are able to use the disney images on cards - but I suppose if they didnt want you to use them they wouldnt put them on the net??? (p.s. just so you dont think I've lost my marbles it is meant to say Perry Christmas - in case you haven't seen the show thats the name of the platypus!)

On to the next one - oops been shopping in Bugaboo again - feel I might need to go again before their 50% off ends.

I have coloured Harry with promarkers - again I was stumped on what to use paper wise but then remembered I had this lovely rich red colour that matches the colour in Harrys scarf I then added the Gold ribbon which was a freebie with the Do Crafts magazine last year - again to bring out the gold in his scarf. Fonts 101 to the rescue with this Spell font which I have paper torn. (It looks a bit better in real life - lol )

I would like to enter this into :
Crafty Catz - Paper tearing challenge
Stamp something - digi challenge
Pixi Dust - For the boys/men

Anything goes.

Yoo hoo, hope you all had a good Bonfire Night - very quiet here in the B household - hubby on nights so we had our fireworks on Thursday night - what a waste of money - they were pathetic - maybe I shouldn't be such a tight a~*%e and pay a bit more instead of 2 boxes for £10. lol.

Anyway, I just wanted to blog a card I made for either my brother who will soon be 50 or a bloke hubby works with who is turning 40. I had a cute pennyblack golfing card made but when I saw Bugaboos 50% sale I just had to have this (and I am going back for more - as the sale is on for all of November - yay!!).

I have used a lovely petrol blue colour bazzil that in real life matched the colour in the paper really well. Then I have used Basic Grey Offbeat papers - image coloured with pro markers and 3d glossy accents added to hi glasses and sakura glitter pen to the hat.

I love this image so you might see him on more cards.

I would like to enter this into:

Oh just incase you thought I forgot my last post - for those that enquired - The Tenerife incident involved being ever so slightly drunk and 3 on a moped in the very early hours of the morning - but ssshhhh dont tell my mum.

Wednesday, 3 November 2010

I have 'tude!!

Yoo Hoo what 2 posts in one day - that doesnt happen very often but I have been given an award -yay!!
You have to list 3 things that makes you different to everyone else and then pass on to 5 people - so here goes (but I think I am really boring so this is quite difficult)

1. I was given a stern talking to in Tenerife by a policeman and nearly had my passport taken off me.

2. I appeared in a top selling magazine after having a makeover with some work colleagues.

3. erm..... I only went out with my future hubby 'cos I felt sorry for him (oh and he was a fireman -lol)

I would like to pass this on to:
Sarah @ Rainmacs Place
Lindsey @ Loopy Lindseys
Faye @ Stampin Fluffnstuff
Justine @ Emma Bear for ever
Claire @ What shall I make today

Testing 1,2,3...

Morning, - I know hold on to your seats lol - posting on a morning!! I thought I was out with mum today but she had other plans so I'm at home feeling sorry for myself - I've washed windows (gulp!!) started wrapping the few measly Christmas presents I have (even bigger gulp!!!) - starting to panic as I have NO idea what to get people. Normally I have some sort of idea but not this year!!

So to take my mind off it I made this card - just to have in my growing stock pile :-)

The image is a 99p imaginisce (sp?) coloured with promarkers and i have stamped another and cut out the tape in the middle and raised it with a sticky pad. I have used black card and silver card embossed with a cuttlebug folder. I have used a font from fonts 101 - getting a bit clever with this font lark - now I have finally got it sussed!! Then some card candy.

I would like to enter this into Papertake weekly challenge - Penny for the Guy.
Paper Sundaes - for the boys.
Crafty Sentiments - Male.

Pinch, punch...

That's what my lovely hubby decided to do at precisely 6.20 a.m this morning - I tell you he was the one nearly punched - right in the mush!!! I can laugh now but I am really NOT a morning person - lol!!
Right - my mojo has returned and got a few cards made - thought I could blog them all tonight - but getting decent photo's is a nightmare - curse you low energy lightbulbs :-)

Before I get to the cards I'll show you how I am progressing with my cross-stitch - oh boy it it's testing my patience but I wont give up - my son will get it before he is 21!!

I think if I keep blogging my progress it will make me stick with it - hmm lets see if that psychology works!!

Okey doke, this is the Christmas card I have made for my mum - it's our 2nd Christmas without dad - so wanted to do something special - she has a thing for angels so I hope she likes what I have done here - she doesnt really like things too fussy either - so I hope she does:

The red paper is Basic Grey and I have die cut a scalloped circle and made the snowflake from a 12 x 12 sheet that was in a goody bag but not sure who's it is. I stamped the image from a stamp I got from ebay (I love her face) and the sentiment is possible a daisy & dandelion one.

I would like to enter this into the Circles challenge at Digi stamps 4 joy - you spin me round.
OSAAT - Christmas
Delightful challenges - Circles.
Creative card crew - punches
KMS' s MSE Challenge - Christmas

I loved doing this next card - after last week where everything I tried just looked a mess - this came together nicely:

I have used a cute Mo Manning freebie and coloured it with pro-markers and added sakura glitter pen to the leaf & whiskers. I have used Nesties label 1 to die cut the image and then matted it onto some turquoise card which was SU. Then used paper that I received from a giveaway at Millies Marvels which I have then matted onto some craft paper and added 3 different sized gems in the corner also in my lovely gift.

I would like to enter this into:
Catch the Bug - whirling, twirling autumn.
Crafty Creations - Autumn

Here is a pic of this years pumpkins, I want to say thank you to Blueberry Heart - who inspired the drunken pumpkin, that I spotted on her blog last year and as soon as my eldest saw - he loved, thought it was brilliant.

Have a great night xx

Good Evening, hope you are all well. It's been rather chilly here today but still lovely and sunny so made the most and washed some windows and weeded the garden - phew! dont know whats come over me.

Still not done much crafting but have had this photo stored on my pooter for a couple of weeks and not blogged it so will blog it now as I can also enter it into the Anything Goes challenge at the Cards for Men challenge blog:

Things that go bump.....

Helloooo, ooh feels like ages since I've blogged something!! Haven't really known what to make since I have more birthday cards made than Clintons and not getting into the christmas swing yet... apart from the 1 -2christmas cards I have made - will really need to start getting a wiggle on there. But I saw the title of a challenge over at Loopy Lindseys - and new I had the perfect image, I've had it coloured in for ages but then not really known what to do with it - even now I've made the card I'm not sure when I will use it - hmmm - maybe next halloween for the boys. Anyway, here is the card:

The image is a Dustin Pike freebie, coloured with pro-markers, I have cut out the under the bed bit and matted it onto black card. The purple paper was a freebie in one of the card magazines (this is the first time I have ever used any of the free papers but it was a nice matt one) and then just stuck gold stars on that I saved from when I used my Martha Stewart star punch on a previous card.

Hope this is ok for the Fab n Funky - Things that go bump challenge.
Crafty Cardmakers - use a freebie ( I have used 2)
Ooh La La - Scary
Spoon full of sugar - Boo

Halloween card for my eldest & a cupcake card.

Hi all, just a quick post tonight before an early bath so we can get cosy to watch The Middle on Sky 1 - have you seen it??? We find it sooo funny.

Thought I had better get my finger out and make another halloween card and diaper fold pouch to put some sweets in for my eldest - the youngest is sorted - except we need to refresh the sweets - erm don't know who ate them - cough!!

Sorry for the terrible photo - it was a bit of a nightmare to take - I have die cut a circle out and then restuck it onto the inside -the spider and vampire diecuts are MME as is the paper - I have some new stickles that I have put around the die cut circle - but they havent shown up too well in the photo. Hope you get an idea of how it looks.

I would like to enter this into craftfairies - die cut/Halloween challenge.

Lastly this is a card I made for my next door neighbour to say thank you for making my youngests birthday cake:

I have used the Magnolia cupcake stamp coloured with promarkers and also popped little beads on the top and also coloured the lovely chef in promarkers. The paper was in my stash I think sent from Sarah aka Rainmac and then put organza ribbon at the side.

I hope it is ok to enter this into the fab n funky challenge - yummy, yummy, yummy.

Thanks for looking xx.

Relax!

Evening all, hope you are all ok on this chilly evening - brr!! The lovely Sarah over at Rainmacs place (check out her lovely blog and candy!) is a dt over at Cards for Men and I saw the challenge on her blog and decided to make a card for it (plus it is handy to have a mans card at the ready as I found out the other day when it was my boss's birthday and I had no idea until the day!!). So here is the card:

The image is one of my new stamps that I got from Little Claires at the Harrogate fair. I have paper pieced the hammock (ooh get me!) and coloured him with promarkers and added glossy accents to the pint. The papers are SU (again!) I am LOVING these papers. Now then, the only thing I 'm not sure about is the Brad - could I have your honest opinions please.

So I would like to enter it into the cards for men challenge - Happy Birthday.

Its Pink!!

Sorry about my wobble yesterday. It hasn't stopped my having a little potter about today - making a VERY pink girly card - see what you think:

The little princess stamp was one that I recently won in candy from Milliesmarvels - thank you!!

I have coloured her with promarkers and also used a glitter pen for added sparkle and her tiara. The flower & bling in the middle and pink bazill from stash. The backing paper and ribbon is SU.

I would like to enter this in:

Gorjuss girl coming out to play.

Hi hope you are all having a relaxing Sunday. I have been to mums for lunch and came home and had a little potter around and made this card:

Hope you will excuse the photo as the butterfly isnt that blue in real life - it is a closer match to the blue on the paper. Gemm over at MSE kindly sent me some butterflies and this is the first card I have used one on. The Gorjuss girl and sentiment where in a pack reduced from the range and the bling I received in a prize. The papers are stampin up (I think).

Do you ever make cards and then go and look at other blogs and think 'will I ever be that good???' I am having one of those days - I know my cards aren't the best - but having serious doubts today - oh well I'll still have a go at entering in a few challenges. (Sorry for the whinge!)

Lou's monochrome challenge

I really shouldnt be on here, got loads to do but hubby has helped by taking youngest to gymnastics before we go to an open evening for secondary school for my eldest (and we've just come back from a meeting about him going on the school trip to France next year!!) - omg he still seems to young - or is it I dont like feeling old - hmm.

This is a card I have made for a challenge I spotted but it will come in handy at christmas as well, it is for the Black, White and Silver challenge over at Creative Craft World. Its another one of those where you have the idea in your head and then I am not too sure of it in real life - anyway see what you think :
Sorry about the shadowing - just finding it a bit tricky at the mo. to get decent images.

I have used my new Mariannes dies from ebay on silver card and matted onto black card. The sentiment is just printed off word and again backed onto silver card.

Thanks for looking xx

Wednesday, 6 October 2010

Cheers!

Good Evening all, just a quick post while hubby is in the bath (I dont get grief for being on here then) and we settle down for Midsomer Murders. This is a card that I made for my brother who likes a beer (or three) unlike his sophisticated sister who lurves wine - lol!!

The papers are smirk and the image is a pollycraft freebie coloured with pro-markers - so suitable for mens cards - I have used it a few times. I have added glossy accents to the beer. I have squished a bottle top with my Big Shot and added the cheers sentiment again covered with glossy accents.

I keep thinking I need to add a bit more to my cards - but its hard with mens cards.

I would like to enter this into the Cupcake Craft Challenge - Happy Hour.

Thanks for looking xx

Spooky Greetings!

I really need to get my timing sorted - it's not good trying to blog a new make when cooking the tea - if I dash off its 'cos the yorkshire puds are burning - lol!!

Here is a card I have made for one of the boys friends whose birthday is on Halloween:

You know when you have an idea in your head how you want a card to look and this is the closest I can get - I wanted it to look as if the house was up on a hill. The house is a digi from Spyder and have used basic grey eerie backing paper and then torn and layered black card across the bottom. The image is an Elzybells one (it also had a witch on - but I cut her off - just to show the 2 boys - to try and represent my sons). I have downloaded a spooky font and printed off the greeting and then distressed it. Phew - think I need a cup of tea now, sometimes I think tooooo much - lol!!! (p.s. - the sentiment is meant to be cut at a jaunty angle).

Hope you like it.

I would like to enter it into the following challenges:
I did it creations - spooky
Incy Wincy - anything goes
Paper Cutz - anything goes
Stamp Something - celebrate (birthday)
Catch the bug - anything goes.
Delightful Sketches- purple green & black (on the backing paper)

I think this is ok for Spyders challenge - if not Lyn just let me know - and I'll remove my link:-)

Thanks for looking. xx

A Christmas Card

Hi, sorry this is just a flying visit - I dont know where my time is going these days - aargh!!!

Anyway, here is a card I have made for my little christmas stock pile - I have kept it quite plain - but see what you think - not sure whether to add a little charm??

I did have a challenge in mind when I made this and it was the Pollycraft challenge of no designer paper. I have just used silver card and embosses white card and then the pollycraft image which I have coloured with pro-markers and added a little glitter pen to her hat and the snowball. I would also like to enter it into Crafty Emmas - Hat challenge. Finally to the Festive challenge at MSE.

I knew Darcy would come in handy!!!

Evening all, well what a miserable day it has been here - dont think its stopped raining all day, but look at this that greeted us after tea:

Not often we see a double rainbow - my sons were very impressed.

Anyhoo - been having a little play - as you do - and made another card for a 7 year old - the digi that I got from Spyder is coming in very handy!!

Hope Lyn doesnt mind that I have popped googly eyes on Darcy. I have chosen balloon backing paper again as well - been hunting for paper that could use on the inside back of the card - but cant find anything suitable - so may have to leave it white - but have a little while before the card is needed so I will keep my eyes open. I have coloured him with pro-markers and added glossy accents to the candles and used glitter pen to his wings and smoke.

Right - wonder if I can enter this into any challenges.

Ooh heres one Totally Papercraft - Kind of magic.

I can also back link this to Spyders latest didi - digi challenge.

Thanks for looking. xx

Bobble head!

Good morning, a flying visit before we pop to my mums for lunch (yum!). I have had a go at making a bobble head card - having spotted the gorgeous frankie freebie at Bugaboo stamps - I recycled a spring that was on a birthday card for my youngest and had a go at making my own. I was wondering how I would attach it - but when I checked the shop bought one - they had only used sellotape!

I have coloured him with pro markers and added Anitas 3d glossy accents to his boots. I have then used black card and the other papers are from American crafts - some from a 12x12 sheet.

I would like to enter him into the following challenges:
Catch the bug - 3d
Stamps r us - Halloween
digi-stamps 4 joy - recycled (the spring).
One Stitch at a Time - anything goes.
Charizma Cards - anything goes.
Gingerloft challenge - halloween

Keeping up....NOT!

Cor blimey don't know whats wrong with me at the moment, but am struggling to keep up on here - either reading and commenting on blogs or posting - even having trouble getting my mojo together to make cards and my cross stitch hasnt been touched for nearly a week!!

I did manage to get it together the other night to make an engagement card - this couple have been together ages, got a house couple of kids etc. So didnt think cutsy image would be appropriate - dont know why though?? hmm. Anyway, initially thinking would go for champagne bottle/glasses image ended up going a completely different way and have gone quite plain with just some die cut hearts, some pearls and sentiment - see what you think:

You dont think it looks like a new baby card do you??

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Daisy Doodles - Keep it simple

A quick post with my cup of tea!

Oh lordy, its panic stations here trying to get ready for Toms party tomorrow - however, I have come to the conclusion that I work best when under pressure - so I keep having little tea breaks. Luckily hubby is on nights tonight and the boys are at their nannas, so I can crack on tonight!! So really sitting making cards and blogging them should be at the bottom of my list but...... you know how addictive it is - lol (just wish my hubby "got it") :-). I'll make the fairy cakes next!!

Here is my quick card that I have made for the cupcake craft challenge:

The image is a freebie from Bugaboo (I think)- coloured with pro-markers,and glossy accents to the clowns nose, the papers were also freebies with a magazine. I have added bazzill to the card stock and then added gold stars that I had punched.

Right back to getting organised!!

Spyders new challenge.

Good morning, I really shouldnt be sat here typing this it is my youngests birthday the house is like a bomb site with wrapping paper and packaging everywhere and trying to get them dressed for school - aargh! But I really just wanted to post this for Spyders new challenge.

This is my first attempt at a diaper fold and it was really easy - I used 12x12 american crafts paper (I think next time I might go for 8x8), I have coloured one of spyders freebies in promarkers - colours to match the paper, I have also added glossy accents to her hat and then added a brad at the top.

A nice little Halloween goody bag for one of the boys - another will be following.

Autumnal.

Gosh, it feels like ages since I have made a card - so they other night I had a little play with my new distress inks and made a card for my sister in law and if you dont blink you might even see my first attempt at paper piecing (incase you did miss it, it was the scarf! - lol). Her birthday is at the end of October so have chosen some autumnal colours and will also be able to enter it into a couple of challenges - if I could remember where they were - oh dear its one of those days!!

The image is from Pink Gem, and the backing paper is Basic Grey with some bazzill that I have punched. I have coloured the image with promarkers and added glossy accents to the apples.

I would like to enter it into the following challenges:

A little bit of shoppin'

Yay the day arrived to go to the Harrogate Papercraft Exhibition. Got there just as it was opening but unfortunately couldnt stay as long as I would of liked due to hubbys shifts. I still managed to get a little bit of shopping some new distressed inks, lovely new stamp from Little Claires and other bits and bobs. As usual once I have got home I am thinking hmm wonder if I can go back tomorrow and get some other bits - dont think that will go down well!!! Anyway here is a little pic of my purchases:

You really had to shop around though as some of the prices really differed - I paid £3 for the cut-n-dry but saw it for sale on another stall for over £6.

Right I am off to finish the ironing (I thought once the kids were back at school my ironing pile would shrink - but it hasnt aargh!!). Then I will be back for a little play with my new things - yay xx

Moving along.

Just a quick post tonight whilst tea is cooking in a recent stash swap I received some lovely LOTV die cuts and I have used one on this card for a male relative - not sure if it is too plain but didnt want to add ribbons and only really had the card candy suitable for male cards without making it too girly!!

The backing paper is Basic Grey and the image has been backed onto black card.

I would like to enter this into
LOTV Challenge - one for the boys
Crafty Creations - Transportation.
Fab n Funky - Whateva

Best laid plans...

Well, yesterday I was going to do a new post of hyxgt (Hows your Cross Stitch going Tuesday) - I havent done one for months!!! Were does the time go?? But, it was the last day of the boys holidays so we went to Flamingo Land which is a Theme park about an hour a way so there was lots of this:Add Image

Can you see me at the front - I am the one SOAKING wet!!! Lol
So because of this there was no post - I was worn out and a glass or two of wine was in need - but I shouldnt really it just sends me to sleep!!

Anyway, this is what was going to be posted:

Last weekend I went to Harrogate to a Needlecraft exhibition thinking there would be quite a bit of cross stitch - but there wasnt - it was mainly quilting and there was some beautiful quilts on display. I still managed to get a kit at one of the few stalls that sold cross stitch - now if I ever finish this it will be for my eldest sons bedroom, who is into Harry Potter and magical/mythical things - however he might have his own place by then!!!! I have never stitched on black aida before and there are few things on the chart that I have not done before - they really should let you read the instructions before you buy - lol xx
