Last Tusal of the year:

yup, and I'm late again - I have gone from being slightly organised to panic stations - pah!! I dont know where its all gone wrong :-(  - anyhoo it'll all come together in the end - I think I have this panic every year.

So, here is Decembers Tusal - full to the brim with cottons and then random bits of felt from where I have been making ipod covers and a half eaten gingerbread man for the Christmas Tree - picture to follow:

Why not pop to Daffycats to see how everyone else did.

Here is my little play with felt:

I had the pattern for ages and finally got round to making him this year (this sort of thing appeals to my sense of humour) - here is a link to the pattern.

Finally, I've just come back from a last minute bit of sale shopping at Mo's digital pencil who is having a little sale on her digi's but it ends very soon - you need a code which I've seen around blogland and facebook so you've probably come across it.  I was very restrained and only bought two but could have bought loads - unfortunately all spent up with my Christmas shopping - maybe next time - lol.

Right off to sort the kids out for their bath.

Enjoy the little bit of weekend that is left.

Thanks for looking

Quite a productive afternoon...

... yup, got my mums christmas card made yesterday (which I will blog when I spot some challenges :-) ), but I also cracked on with a bit of making up - I am a bit of a devil for starting projects but never actually seeing them through to the end, but as one of these was a Christmas present and one I wanted for home I thought I'd better get my finger out and get on with it, especially with the kids not at home:

Apologies though for the rather dodgy photos it was a miserable afternoon and lighting was shocking:

Steph kindly pointed me in the direction of some Avengers cross stitch patterns and I went for this one, it was going to turn out a lot bigger for the whole row of characters than I realised so I chose Captain America to stitch and make up into a cushion for Tom who is a fan - I am pleased with how it turned out and amazed that I used my noggin to make it up!!!! shock!!! as I am a bit of a div when it comes to sewing and forgetting to sew them right sides together etc!!!  anyhoo, the picture shows the end pinned but I sat and ladder stitched it last night and it looks good - so now both my boys have cushions wrapped up for Christmas.

And now for.... yup you've guessed it another cushion - (again showing a pinned edge but now fully finished:

This was a Lizzie Kate design (another that  worked out bigger than I thought), I've sewn it onto fabric that was from a fat quarter that I bought reduced in the summer.

I've been really good and just used fabric that I had in the house rather than buying new as I seem to be getting a little stash and not using any - hubby will be pleased lol.

As I have stitched this design now, I doubt I would stitch it again - if anyone would like it I'd be happy to post it on to you as a RAK just leave a comment for me - if I get more than one request by Wed I'll pop the names in a hat (hope that is fair and ok).

Right best be off forgot to make a card for my stepson and his girlfriend (big oops!!)

Just a quickie...

...I know, shocked or what - another post.  I am just about to start to make my mums card - which I was supposed to do earlier in the week  - cough! But before I do I'll just blog Toms card:

The papers I think are Dovecraft which I have matted onto pale blue bazzill.  The image is a new one from the sale department at Funky Kits (as well as a couple of others - but we wont mention those just yet ;-) ) I have coloured him with promarkers and made the sentiment just on word.

I would like to enter this into:
Totally Papercrafts - one for the boys

Right off to go and colour an image and hope that inspiration strikes!!!  Aargh!!!

Whoop...

... another post yay!!! Just wanting to blog card I made for Sarah:

The shaped card blank is from Craftwork Cards when I went to Harrogate with flowers and ribbon from stash - the paper is from Kaisercraft and the image was a freebie but havent kept the link and now feel bad about that its such a cute image so if anyone knows please let me know and I'll add a link to give credit. *Thanks to Debbie its a Birdie Brown digi   - so big thanks there for such a cutie image the image has been coloured with promarkers and then my new liquid pearls added around the image.

I would like to enter this into:

I love promarkers - anything goes.

Before I go, just want to share a pic of Tom in his new Christmas jumper (& hat!!):

Couldnt resist this jumper when I saw it in Primark - I did run it by him before I bought it but no he assured me he would like it and definately wear it!!  And he is - now!!!  Thought I'd seize this opportunity before he grew up to be a grump like his big brother - who apparently would NOT wear anything remotely christmassy so dont event think of buying him one (or a onsie for that matter) - lol!

Anyhoo, thanks for looking

Well over at Saturated Canary Krista is having 50% off for Black Friday, well it would have been rude not to take advantage of this so I popped over for they Grey Tie image - thinking for Hubbys Christmas card:

So this is what I've been busy with this morning.  The image has been coloured with promarkers matted onto silver mirricard, the sentiment I did myself and the dp's are from a 12x12 sheet that I have had for ages - not sure of the make and then added little diamante (?) stick ons in the corner.

I would like to enter this into:

BOO!!!

... Ooh have I surprised you with a post - oh my lordy, cant believe how long its been!!!!  I do have an armful of excuses though, so grab a cuppa & help yourself to a cake while I  get up to date - I've been spending a bit more time in the kitchen trying to improve on my baking skills one of my favourites where these mince pie cakes  from the Goddess Kitchen -they were delicious:

I've also been a bit addicted to these:

I couldn't put the first one down - luckily I'd bought the others for my son and he didnt mind me reading them before he had, as much as I enjoyed them I was a bit disappointed with the ending of the last book - felt it could have ended a bit better, but saying that I still enjoyed them.  I've finally started reading Twilight, a friend lent me the book ages ago and I dont know why I was very reluctant to pick it up thinking it would be all moody teenagers and I'm starting to get enough of that at home lol and didnt want to read about it as well -lol - but it isnt, and now I'm hooked on this as well - I know the films have been on tv recently but I've deliberately missed them so I can enjoy the book.  With all this reading I was thinking of joining Stephs  50 book challenge, but its seems I'm not very good at continuing with challenges once I've joined them - oops - so I might just join from the sidelines and keep my own record :-)

Erm, what else have I been up to - well I have been making the odd card but goodness knows where my cardmaking mojo has gone but I'm going to have to get it back as I've Christmas cards to make - aargh!!!  I've got photos of some of my makes and I'll blog them if I spot suitable challenges.

I'm still cross-stitching on a night, I finished Jacks Big Bang Theory stitching and made it into a cushion cover - it only took me 4 hours to make this morning - good grief!!!

(I know its a bit wonky - but by the end I was losing the will to live - lol!! - definately NOT a patient person when sewing is concerned!! - I'm hoping it wont be as noticable when there is a cushion in :-))

Before I made it up I had the great idea of doing a cushion for Tom, hoping next time I make it up it will be a bit easier!!

Heres his Captain America cross-stitch:

Thanks again to Steph who sorted me out with a link to the free pattern - do pop to her blog she makes gorgeous things puts up great links and has now started to do her own cross-stitch patterns!!

So heres my November TUSAL picture (just for a change I thought I'd be late posting!! - sorry Daffycat)

Pop over to Daffcats blog to see how everyone else is doing.

Right I think thats a condensed version of what I've been up to hope you are all well and hopefully now I'm getting things sorted at home as I have dropped working a Thursday morning I'll be a bit more organised and get back to reading blogs and leaving comments which I know has fallen by the wayside.

Thanks for looking

Have a great weekend

Octobers Tusal...

... yay I think I'm on time for the first time in months!!!  Here is my Tusal :

Getting fuller!!  Pop to Daffycat to see how everyone else is doing.

I've got a few more letters done on my Gnome Alphabet:

But I've been naughty and started a new project:

Its a pixel design for the Big Bang Theory which we are big fans of here.   I saw the original idea on Stephs blog - who makes the cutest amigurami and lots of other crafty stuff - pop over for a nosy, where she made it into a cushion - so I am afraid I have been totally unorginal and nicked her idea (hope you dont mind :-)), for a christmas present for my eldest.  I then thought I'd do an Avengers one for my youngest and Steph was very helpful in pointing me in the right direction of some patterns - Thank you!!!  These are great to stitch and perfect for beginners plus they only take a night to do a character. I purchased the pattern from Etsy from here if you fancy a nosy.  Fingers crossed I wont be my usual unorganised self and get them finished in time - I hope so, as I am a bit useless in that department - I really dont want them to go into my pile of 'stuff' to be finished off properly - I tell you, I really need to win the lottery this work malarky really plays havoc with my crafting!!!

Helloooo...

... just a quick blog of a card make before I go and make a nice coffee:

This was a make for Tom to take to a party of a girl in his class.  The image is an LOTV freebie from a magazine, coloured with promarkers matted onto red card - that have both been die cut, I have then punched more card for the bottom and added a sentiment ticket.  Not sure what make the dp paper is that has again been matted onto red card with a craftwork cards card blank.

I keep looking at tutorials on colouring but still really struggle getting nice effects on hair - will have to do a bit more practising I think - lol!!

Anyhoo, onto a card - I've used some of my new Kaisercraft papers for this one for my sister in law:

I have coloured a  Pink Gem image with pro-markers and distressed the edge of the die cut circle then used my new corner rounder punch on the square paper then added button and twine from my stash.

Ola!!!

Yay!!!! I'm back - well our first holiday abroad with the boys was a success - not stressful at all - well only getting a little bit stressed about flying but it was fine - the boys stayed occupied in the pool or in the kids club that they were adamant they werent going to go to, but as they were the only kids in the hotel - they had the entertainment staff to themselves and loved every minute - right time to start saving for next year!!!

Now admitted we did only go away for a week and it's been AGES since my last bloggy post I'm not doing anything differently but my time just seems to go flying by.  Before we went away I managed to get to the quilting and cross stitch show at Harrogate and it was a lovely, the quilts were amazing:

These are just two of the quilts, I've got pictures of others as well - just gorgeous!!

I was very good and didnt spend too much - too be honest I felt a bit guilty with us going away - and I've got loads of sewing bits I could be doing at home - but its always nice to get something new:
I bought a kit to make a quilted cushion - its supposed to be ideal for beginners - hmm not so sure now I've opened it - lol - I told the girl it needed to be very easy and she assured me it was - so I'll let you know how I get on - when I start it!!.  I also got a small pincushion kit it was only £1.99 so couldnt resist it - I also got a new Bent Creek cross stitch pattern and a fat quarter of some cute material with wellies and watering cans - hmmmm what to do what to do with it??

Before we went away I started to get back into my cross-stitch and the gnome alphabet is coming along slowly but surely:
and here is my latest TUSAL (now I'm not sure if I'm early or late- oops)
pop to Daffycat to see how everyone else is getting on.

Right I'm not sure how many photos I can get away with in a post - so I'll go and check how my soup is getting on and I'll be back later with some card makes.

Enjoy your weekend

At last....

...yay another post.  Right I've got half an hour while the boys are on the x-box to get up to date.  Its been a funny ol' time and I'm sort of looking forward to the boys going back to school - just so I can get in some sort of routine again - I've been doing odd days here and there at work to fit in with Ians shifts so we didnt have to rely on others for childcare.

We've had some lovely days out of which I've got no photo's because I either forgot the camera or then took it but forgot I had taken the memory card out - doh!!!  But we've had great days at Whitby, away in our Caravan, Saltburn and Stockton Show with combined food festival.  It doesnt seem much but our days seem to have been full???

I've also been busy at home when I have had the chance.  We had an emergency birthday card make for the little boy over the road - when I realised I had no fall back cards I decided to have a couple made 'just in case':

These are just a couple of bugaboo images coloured with promarkers and one with an embossed background.  I need to get a couple of young girls ones made too - just in case!!

I've also been building my confidence in the cooking department too, so a few photos and shout outs to blogs who've helped either with baking or recipes to liven up tea times - as I am sick of cooking the same old stuff!!

My first attempt was this easy chocolate cake:

Yum, easy to do and with  Nutella (or Asdas version) in the centre and a sprinkling of icing on the top - this went down very well and didnt last long - a big thank you to Froogs for this recipe.

Next were some Banana & White chocolate Muffins from Rosie :

Now these didnt really turn out looking anything like Rosies muffins - not sure why, unrefined sugar maybe???  But they taste delicious - now can anyone help here with a bit of a query  - now these seemed cooked tops springy and golden and had been in the necessary time but when I tried one (purely for quality control you understand - erm with a nice coffee (of course)) the bottom seemed to tear away and stick to the muffin case - does this mean they werent properly cooked???  I didnt like to leave them any longer as they were quite golden - they didnt taste uncooked???  Any help would be appreciated.

Right now for something savoury, tonights tea was BBQ Pork Burritos - this recipe came from a new blog I've found with a great name: Jenny Eatwells Rhubarb & Ginger there are some great family friendly recipes on there and I laughed when reading how her son has a thing about eating things a certain colour - hmmm sounds familiar - lol - anyhoo, here is a pic of my Burrito filling bubbling away:
I had to make a few alterations to the recipe i.e. Paul Newmans bbq sauce and  NO kidney beans  that really would have been pushing it -  I only JUST got away with the red onions - pah! I would have done if they werent so long - lol.

Right I think thats most of it caught up to date - I've got a few more cards to blog - I've managed to get Toms done - at last we've moved on this year and managed not to make an army one we've gone zombies and captain america (not on the same card though!!) - I've probably bored you to tears now so I'll do them another night.

Okey doke, off to have a rummage through my cross stitch basket and get that started again as I havent picked my needle up for ages - lovely hubby is taking me to Harrogate on Saturday for the Great Northern Needlework & Quilt show and I know I'll want to buy something but will feel a bit guilty if I havent done any for a while - if you know what I mean - lol.

Enjoy the rest of your night - thanks for looking

Oh dear...

...after my many posts (lol) in July, it must have worn me out.  I did get a couple more cards made, which I havent blogged yet and a couple still to make.  However,  I dont think I've done any stitching - not sure my Tusal looks any different and my mojo has gone walk about!!  Cant be bothered to make cards or sew - my gnome alphabet is looking a bit sorry for itself and my father in laws birthday card is just not happening :-(.

Anyhoo, here is Augusts Tusal - pop to Daffycat to see how everyone else is doing:

Sorry for the saddo post, hopefully back soon and back up to speed.
