Just...

... a VERY quick post as my youngest has a new dvd that he is wanting to settle down to watch!  I just wanted to quickly post this:

This is a card I made for a family friend who got a new job as a teaching assistant.  The image has been coloured with promarkers.   I won the papers so not sure of the make, I made the banner myself.

I would like to enter this into:

Wow!!!

I cant believe its been  a month since I last posted!!! So this post might be a bit long!! Erm, not too sure where  the time has gone!!!  I'm afraid my mojo hasn't been wanting to play and having the pressure of last minute cards didn't help as I wasn't really pleased with my makes - so did have to resolve to sending bought cards :-(.  So as part of my New Years Resolution which never seems to stay resolved for very long I am going to try and make a Christmas card a month - so I dont have the same panic as this year - sounds good doesn't it - hmmmm wonder if I stick to it!!

I did make a Birthday card for Sarah which I was quite pleased with:

The image is Saturated Canary coloured with promarkers (can you tell I've been trying to practice shading in her hair lol) - the papers are Echo Park (I think)  and I made the sentiment myself, it finished off inside 'love on your birthday'.

I would like to enter this into:

Passion for promarkers - include a sentiment
Crafty Little fairies - anything goes
Crafty Creations - anything goes
Charisma cardz - anything goes.

I also managed a little break to Harrogate to go to the Knitting and Stitching show - my lovely hubby went with me - bless him - I think he secretly likes these shows he doesnt seem to mind wandering around one bit with me and is quite good at remembering where I've seen things.  I forgot to take my camera though so have no photos of the stalls and also forgot Mouse's  contact details as was hoping to meet up with her  :-( .  Its the first time I had been to this show and would definately save up and go again - there was a life size knitted nativity scene and it was fab!

Here's a little picture of my new stash - I was quite restrained really lol:

I got a couple of new cross stitch patterns and threads and as you may have noticed from previous posts I have a bit of a thing for bags and I bought a pattern and kit to make my own quilted bag - although I was a bit gutted when I got home to find there was no wadding in the kit and it wasnt mentioned at the time that I'd need to buy it seperately so I havent got round to starting it yet.  that can be a New Year project when I get round to ordering the wadding.  Then thats it I'm on a stitchy stash ban until I've used up what I have - cough- yeah right!

On the subject of stitching I've signed up again for Daffycats Tusal - you can find out all the info here.

Right I think thats about it - ah not too long!! apart from to wish you all a:

as I'm at work until 6 tomorrow - boooo!!! so dont think I'll get chance to blog again before Christmas - hope Santa is good to you all - lots of love.

Hellooo...

... ooh its blooming freezing here!!!!  So its just a quick post before the kids come in and I have a cuppa to warm up:

This is a card I have made for my niece who has just recently got engaged.  The image is LOTV coloured with promarkers and some stickles added to the flowers.  I have matted this onto orange card (as I have tried to pick out the colours in the top paper) Then punched green card and added pearls from my stash.  The papers are Echo Park and with a freebie sentiment from Netty.  Which have again been matted this time onto pink paper.

I would like to enter this into:

Good Evening...

... just  a quick post before I nip in the bath to get ready for the start of I'm a Celebrity - although not reckoning much to this years line up - so I may not watch it all :-(, we'll see how it goes (although I must say I'm surprised to see Rebecca Adlington in there!)

Right, the card I'm blogging tonight is for my hubby :

I've also taken a photo of the insert -I'll have to admit I saw the sentiment on Pinterest and have pinched the idea:

The image is a Meljens design which was a freebie last year I think - I have coloured it with promarkers and added fluffy stuff to his had and stickles to certain areas of the snow.  I have die cut the snowflake and added a pearl from my stash.  The papers are Dovecraft again and matted onto red card.

I would like to enter this into:

Eeeh - another post!!

Check me out posting again!!  My posts are like buses - none for ages and then loads all at once!!

This is just a quickie though as just about to start preparing the tea.  Here's my mums Christmas card:

The image is another Pollycraft image coloured with promarkers, Sakura glitter pen to her want and glitter added to her wings.  She has been layered onto silver mirricard as has the sentiment and matted onto Dovecraft (?) papers and then added some holly that I punched with my Martha Stuart punch.  She was a delight to colour.

Hellooo...

...hope you are all well.  Today I've had a lovely day colouring images at Janines crafty club - I'm pleased to have a couple of images under my belt and just get the layouts sorted :-).

I'm also here to quickly blog my other sons christmas  card:

The image is a Pollycraft freebie coloured with promarkers.  The papers are dovecraft I think matted onto red and white card.  The sentiment is just my own done on word, and added a north pole sign that I had in my stash.

Ooooh, aaaaahhhh...

... yup bonfire night is here and I'm afraid I'm being very boring.  We normally go to the big firework display but this year my hubby is on nights and as he is in charge of parking etc and knows all the back streets I'm being a wuss and staying at home.  Luckily the boys dont mind and from where we live we can see them in the distance so we can get to see some of the display from the warmth of our house - the display is to the music of Queen so I might pop one of their cd's on lol.

Anyhoo, back to blogging.  I'll just quickly blog this card I made using a Tiddlyinks image:

The image has been coloured with promarkers (the image came with a sentiment which I printed inside but forgot to take a photo - doh!).  The paper was a freebie with a magazine ages ago and I have then used pink and green card from my stash and added a paper flower and crochet flower from my stash as well.

My first blogged Christmas card...

... second one made but first one blogged (if that makes any sense - lol).  This is a make for my eldest - ooh its hard choosing images for a teenager (a fussy one at that!!).  So having a look through all my downloaded digis I came across this one, which was a freebie a long time ago from SJ's Little Musings:

Hmmm it looks a bit washed out there - it was a bit of a grey day when I took the photo, anyhoo, the image has been coloured with promarkers.  The papers were from a magazine which were matted onto mirricard  I have then added twine, grey pearls from my stash and added a freebie sentiment (thank you Netty).

Where has today gone??? (every day rambling and some stitchery)

Blooming 'eck cant believe its half three already - keep thinking its only mid morning -whats all that about??? lol

Well, today is my first day off whilst the boys have been on holiday and I wanted to take them to an exhibition at a local museum to see props and models from sci-fi films - tbh - more for me than them -lol as I am a bit of a Star Wars fan:

It wasnt a huge exhibition just to say worth the couple of pound to get in.  To stop the moaning about going to the museum I said I'd take them to the local indoor skate park - which was bl**dy freezing -NOTE TO SELF  next time - wrap up very warmly and take something to read!!!

Now they cant moan next time I want to take them somewhere when I sat for two hours in the cold for them - lol.

Right enough of my everyday rambling - I'm also here to show a bit of stitchery.  I have finally got round to finishing off some completed  cross-stitching:

Made into a cushing AND I even managed to add lace!!  Never done that before.

Made into another cushion.

Lastly I had the urge to make a make-up bag at the weekend (as you do).  Now my sewing knowledge is basic to say the least but I managed to make a makeup bag - lined and with a zip neither of which have I attempted before!!! without much swearing or unpicking - heres a piccie of the finished item, now I know its not brilliant but for a first attempt I'm quite chuffed:

Right I think thats me up to date, just on with some colouring for christmas cards and stitching together the felt reindeer that came free with a magazine.  But before I can crack on with that I have to get Tom ready for a Halloween party that he is going to tonight.

If you've made it this far - thank you!

Bonjour!

Long time no post, but I do have a good reason you see we had a little jolly to Eurodisney:

As you can see weather wasnt fab but it didnt really matter.  The park was ready for Halloween and the parade was Halloween/Fall based just gorgeous!!!

And of course you had to have a cuddle with Mickey, although Tom who is 10 was in a bit of a strop as he felt he was TOO old for this (he soon came round though), but Jack enjoyed it - lol, but dont tell him I told you - Goofy took a particular shine to him lol.

When we came home it was Pins and Needles show at Newcastle racecourse, I had tickets from the beginning of the year but wasnt sure if we'd be bothered to make it but my lovely hubby took me up - now, I did enjoy it but there was only one cross stitch stall - the lovely TrudyAnne Designs so I bought a couple of things there:

And I couldnt resist starting one of the designs - oops that means the wizard will probably come to a standstill.

That is the most recent update of him - but I will keep at him as the end is in sight :-), I think I'll take hints from June  as she always has a few projects on the go at once.

The rest of the stalls were cardmaking, so it would have been rude not to make a couple of purchases:

Nothing too exciting, as I didnt have an idea of what I needed as I was expecting it to be more fabrics/stitching.

So thats it really, I need to get back into cardmaking and make a start on my Christmas Cards.

Hope I haven't bored you.

... thats Friday over with - yay!!  Time to chillax, kids at nannas, hubby on nights - I can choose what to watch on tv without any moaning - yay!!!  Before I go and have a bath and my pj's on - I'll just post this recent make:

Its a cute Sassy Cheryl image - coloured with promarkers, matted onto green cardstock.  the papers where magazine freebies and I have added flowers and pearl from my stash and a craftwork cards sentiment.

I would like to enter this into:

Whilst I am here I'll just pop a quick stitchy update on the wizard:

this is more of kick up the bum for me to keep going as I can see I am making progress against my last photo :-) even though it feels like I'm not (if that makes sense!)  I'm onto my last quarter of the pattern whoop! - although there will be lots of finishing off stitches :-( .

Right my bath is calling me - catch you soon, enjoy the weekend.

Morning...

... just a quick post before I go and clean the windows outside - we have been living in a bit of a fog since our window cleaner did a bunk a certain number of months ago and they havent been touched - dirty devil that I am, anyhoo its a nice morning so I'm going to get that job out of the way.

First though I'll blog this whilst I finish my cuppa:

I've coloured this gorgeous image with promarkers (however I have dipped my toe in the dark side that is copics for the skin colours!) and added some fine glitter to the bottom of her dress and the material from her hat. The crown was coloured with a gold pen. The image and papers have been backed onto purple card and the dp's are papermania.  I have added flowers and little gems from my stash.

Clean and Simple...

... I was playing around with one of Janeys lovely images and fancied trying a couple of new things, first a bit of free hand doodling and second a go at a twisted easel card, here is the outcome:  (It is a bit picture heavy as it was tricky trying to show the effect).

I have used my favourite colour combo. of pink and green and used pro-markers to colour the sweet pea image.  The paper was a freebie in paperstack from a magazine ages ago.  I have used pink card stock to matt the image onto and used the same coloured card for the butterflies - the sentiment is from craftwork cards and added pearls from my stash.

Hellooo...

.... how are you all???  Just a quick post before I get settled for tonights viewing of life at Harrow School followed by Educating Yorkshire - complete contrasts to school life - lol.

Got a couple of cards made that I am going to enter into a couple of challenges.  The first is one for one of my best friends son who will be 13 in November, I know he was a fan of Dr Who so I am hoping he still is, as I have used a great free digi - I first saw it on Ellas designs blog and she had kindly posted the link to it here:

I have coloured the image with promarkers and added glossy accents to the light and the window.  It has been matted onto blue card and the dp is Amy Tangerine - again matted onto blue card the star was a freebie from a giveaway and I have added the numbers from my stash.

I would like to enter this into:

Passion for Promarkers - one for the boys

The next card is not made for anyone in particular - other than I wanted to practice my colouring and I liked the sketch  on the papertake weekly challenge:

The image is a lovely Saturated Canary one (and I have just realised I seem to have lost two of her images from my computer - I'm hoping hubby did a back up not so long ago and stored all my images and they will be on the memory stick :-( )  Anyhoo, back to the card I have coloured her with promarkers and then die cut her and distressed the edges.  The dp's were freebies from  a magazine ages ago and then with a bit of artistic licence I have added some ribbon and a little strawberry charm.

I would like to enter this into:

Papertake weekly: - sketch
Simon says stamp - anything goes.

Hmmmm now then I was also thinking of entering it into the Pink Elephant spots/stripes challenge but would you think the gingham effect paper would qualify???

Right off for a little glass of wine and a bit of my wizard stitchery whilst watching tv!  Must get a up to date photo of my stitching to show the progress I have made - I am onto the last quarter of him - althought lots of other bits to be added - just keep stitching, just keep stitching.

Take care & thanks for looking

Still here...

... just haven't posted for a while, with a missing mojo and getting things organised for my youngest sons birthday who was 10 on Tuesday, and is having a laserquest party on Saturday - just hope the rain has stopped by then - mind you it should make for a good muddy run around - I'm sure the other parents will love me - NOT!!

But a colouring session at Janines crafty club on Saturday helped to get a few cards started :-).  I was starting to panic just a little bit as I hadn't even made a start on Toms card but it all came together in the end - phew.

Now a theme seems to be emerging with Toms cards - he still likes army things - so thats what I did, I think this could be year 3 of an army card lol:

The image is a good ol' Bugaboo, coloured with promarkers, and distressed the edges.  I crimped some craft card and printed off the digi paper - added twine and made my own medal (hmm looking a bit wonky there yet it doesnt in real life??) and added the number 10 from my stash.  The card blank was an 8x8 from Craftwork cards, of which I distressed the edges.

I would like to enter this into:

Cutie Pies challenge blog: For the boys
Pink Elephant Challenge - digi image or papers (I've used both)
I love promarkers - anything goes
Cards for men - string it up
Crafty Little Fairies - numbered birthday

Right, thats my quickie post done - off to do some housework - I dont know about you but if I miss one day of pottering around it all goes a bit mental so I end up running around like a loony on my day off!!!  Mind you I am popping out for a sneeky lunch with a friend for a gossipy catch up - lol.

Morning all...

... yup, here again - shocking I know.  I've seen a couple of challenges around and thought I'd quickly blog this card I have made for my nephew who turns 18 in October - yup trying to be organised.

The trusty Beer Monster from Pollycraft has come out to play again!  He has been coloured with promarkers and a little bit of glossy accents to his glass.  He has been matted onto red card and the dp is Amy Tangerine.  I have then squished a bottle top and added my age and again added lots of glossy accents to that.

I would like to enter this into:

A little catch up...

...  yoo hoo,  just wanted to do a quick catchy up post.  This last week we had a few days down at Derbyshire staying at Matlock at a lovely B&B, we could have spent longer there as there was so much to see with one day filled with a theme park (and a couple of crafty shops - cough) and the other at Chatsworth House which was a great day filled and we still managed to miss things!!! Definately need to spend longer there next time.  The B&B where we stayed their daughter has holiday cottages on her farm - so maybe it could be there next for a longer break - although we would miss Davids super breakfasts.

The lady who ran the B&B was a lecturer in tailoring, needlework & patchwork!!!  So I managed to get an impromptu patchwork class and the lovely lady gave me some oddments of material to go towards my patchwork cushion - which hasn't been touched for a while as I ran out of material:

Goodies from Andrea

I've finished my Gnome alphabet apart from the pesky french knots for eyes - grrrr they are a nightmare and they are just not happening so I'll come back to that:

After much pestering from my son - I've picked up my wizard cross stitch:

Oops wrong way round but you get the idea - I'm not enjoying this I feel like I am stitching and stitching and not making any progress but I know if I look back through my blog I can see my progress from previous photos.  The other factor as to why I'm not enjoying it is because I want to start this:

I saw this on Mouses blog and fell in love with it straight away - so I had to order it - now Mouse said its ok to start but I'm trying to be good and hang on until I've done a bit more of the wizard - lol - hmmmm we'll see though.

Right thats my stitchy up date - I really need to get cracking with cards - its my youngests birthday in a couple of weeks so I really need to make a start on his card!!!

Yoo hoo

...  spotted another challenge I can enter a card that I have had a photo of for ages but not actually blogged:

This was for my nephew who recently (well a couple of months ago) passed his driving test.  At the time he was training at Southampton so I googled the map and printed it out to use as the dp and matted it onto burgundy cardstock.  I also printed the sentiment and the image (again from google images), I made the banner my self.  The image was a freebie stamp from a magazine ages ago, coloured with promarkers and some glossy accents to Bentley Bears goggles.

Just escaping...

... from the housework, I've done downstairs so before I move upstairs I'll quickly blog this card:

As I have spotted the Pink Gem challenge and if I dont blog it now I know I'll forget :-).   The image is Pink Gem coloured with promarkers (I was going to be good and list the colours I used but a few more pens have ended up on my desk and now I cant remember what they were doh!),  I have used patterned papers that were free with a magazine ages ago and matted them onto pale blue cardstock.  I have then die cut the fence with a memory box die and used the swirls off another die under a punched flower with a pearl added to the centre from my stash.

I would like to enter this into

Phew ... that was close...

Oh dear I thought I had measured this material correctly and even got hubby to double check me - but we went wrong somewhere:

My Z is about an inch away from the edge of the fabric!!!  I was having a slight panic that it wasnt going to fit, so I just did the stitches I needed to to see where my last stitches would be - phew, it just to say made it!!  Still cant get my head around how if I started from the middle I have ample room at one end and not the other - I think I'll blame the pattern - it was split in two so yeah I'll blame that.

Now that I know it fits I'll go back and finish it properly (as I had lost heart in it when I thought it wasnt going to fit).

Helloooo...

.... just a quick post tonight before hubby gets in from work and it looks like a storm could be a brewin'  its gone awfully dark!!!  So that sets me up for my rubbish photo's I couldnt get a decent one but I hope you get the idea. lol

I saw a nice easy sketch over at Passion for Promarkers and thought I'd have a bash at it - to help my mojo along.  The image is Fairy Tiffany from Milk Coffee.  I have coloured her with promarkers and added stickles to her wings - I have then distressed the edge of the image.  I'm not sure of the make of dp's which have again been distressed and matted onto a creamy coloured pearlised card stock.  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Cough, splutter....

... phew, excuse me whilst I just blow the dust off my blog.  Yup, its been a while all because I fell out with my promarkers and my mojo just upped an left on its summer holidays (plus been having days out with the boys)  thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it lol.

I do have a couple of cards I could blog, but am going to hang on for suitable challenges :-), but, here's a card I've made just to have in my stock pile (although really I need a couple of mens cards!).

I have used one of Janeys lovely designs - the Geum, and this was a joy to colour:

I have printed the image onto Rymans card stock and decoupaged the main flower, here's a photo to try and show:

To colour the image I used three colours on the petals: Apricot, Oatmeal & Vanilla.  For the stem I used Moss and Olive green and outlined the image with cool grey 1.  I then die cut the image with my nesties, added some bling & ribbon from my stash.  The dp is papermania from the pastel collection which I matted onto some pearlised card and layered onto my Craftwork Cards card blank.

I would like to enter this into:

So hot...

... so I've come in for a cool down!!  While I'm here I'll just blog my brothers birthday card.  As I type he is in France doing one of the stages of the Tour de France before the professionals come through - hope he is doing well - apparently if you dont keep up a bus comes and pick you up - lol - oh the shame!!!

One of the perks of card making is you can adapt the card to make it so individual to the recipient (although that isnt always appreciated (rolls eyes)), lets hope this one is:

The image is from just inklined (you'll see it again soon for my nephews card!), I have coloured it with promarkers then matted it onto red and black card.  I have then printed a map of France - roughly showing the area he is at - again matted onto red card then added a little Eiffel tower charm (would it be rude to ask for this back when he is finished with the card lol), that I received from the lovely Steph.  Lastly the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards

Wow!! The Sun is shining...

...but I havent taken advantage of it today, as Janine at Crafting Crackers kindly organised another crafty sessions - where I was able to get lots of colouring done for teachers thank you cards - so I'll be able to get the cards made quickly :-) - Thanks Janine for organising it - look forward to the next session - although I am very jealous of your colouring in skills - lol.  Dont forget if you are in the Teesside Area and fancy popping in contact Janine through her blog where she will be able to help you.

I also got some of Janeys new images coloured as well - so that is some more cards in the pipeline :-).
The sun must have gone to Janeys head too - because if you are quick there is 20% off her images here until the 8th of July.

Okey doke - here are a couple of cards I have recently made as July is a bit mental for birthdays and anniversarys - this one I have used an image that I coloured at last months crafty session:

The image is from funky kits that I have coloured with promarkers and matted onto pink dp.  Then matted again onto I think Basic Grey papers - I have then die cut the heart & bow and adapted it slightly.

I would like to enter this into:

The sugar bowl challenge - anything goes.

My next card is for my bestfriends little boy:

The image is from a collection from Dustin Pike of superheros and they are sooo cute - however I did struggle trying to get any depth/shading with my colouring, however I sort of got there in the end.  The image was coloured with promarkers and matted onto blue card then black the papers where free from a magazine.

Hellooo...

...hubby has gone fishing I've got the kitchen floor washed, so going to sneak on here for a little card blogging and get back to some bits and pieces in the house.  Wish I was more organised around when to do my crafting/blogging in my 2 days off - I just seem to flit from one thing to another and never feel I have achieved anything - how do you structure days???

Anyhoo, here is a card I made for my mums friend:
Just a quick make with a LOTV image coloured with promarkers (I coloured this the other weekend at Janines new crafty club that I mentioned on my previous post).  The image has been matted onto baby blue bazzill and with the same card I have die cut the swirly bow and added a little pink gem.  The paper is Pink Petticoat which was a freebie in a magazine ages ago.

I would like to enter this into:

I love promarkers - pink/blue

The next card is one I've made just to have in (although really I need more emergency mens cards lol):

The image is a gorgeous wee stamp coloured with promarkers, matted onto a doily.  The backing papers are papermania matted onto black paper (I hope the black isnt too harsh - I wanted something striking - let me know what you think).  The sentiment is Craftwork cards.

I would like to enter this into:
